Could be better
Marine Sharpshooter III seemed like it would be entertaining but it turned out to be mix of dated software that just was not thought out properly. The scenario is timely BUT the software was not up to the task. Two marines are on a mission to stop terrorists. Weapon selection is good but limited. When using stealth to approach targets, only one of your characters is in the game, the other is standing in plain site. Uh...if I'm the shooter, my spotter should be down and out of sight not Standing there for all to see.Sad. Again, it could have been better programmed if they actually knew the subject better. Not much imagination in this code. For a few bucks, its ok.

The game is very linear, it won't allow you to cross fences etc, you have to go the route the game wants you too and no other which really spoils the whole concept of creeping about :-) Also, and this makes you want to spit! The spotter will just stand in the open like a can of milk once you stop controlling him and go back to the shooter, and vice versa. Even if you 'leave' your character crouching down when you look at him from the other character he's standing up and usually in the open staring into space, or at a wall, whichever happens to be closest!!!!! Also whichever character you arn't controlling does not take any action no matter what is going on. Graphics are so so and the whole thing goes like something put together in a hurry, computer AI is iffy as well. Poor game this, actually that's too kind, it's a complete waste of time and money, there, said it.

terrible!
What a disappointment this game is! After having used Marine Sharpshooter 1 and Marine Sharpshooter 2, I thought that 3 would continue the experience...was I wrong! The game is awful, graphics are not a patch on the previous versions, terrains are hardly original or inspiring, characters torsos and legs move in opposite directions, looking ridiculous! No cover meter as with previous games, no medi packs, ammo replenishment is only by air drop, right into the middle of hostile territory. GPS is useless, no target indicator on screen only a misleading and confusing GPS map that gives no real help. Tedious linear game play, with no alternative paths based on actions plus no interaction with non player characters make it very dull and repetitive.Worse still, despite being 3rd in series, there is less control of the sniper and spotter (no lean left/right option to snipe around cover to start with) command system is slow and irritating, the spotter is pretty hopeless, both characters standing in full view when not under your control, not engaging targets and being generally useless! Lying prone and crawling to approach target is slower than a snail visiting a mother in law, and very frustrating. No save option exists, so if anything goes wrong, its start all over again...Weapons are a joke, the sniper rifle with silencer is feeble, three shots required to bring down target, grenades have too limited throw range, and claymores can't be set to detonate on command or motion sensing, just explode after approx 5 seconds, therefore being useless as a means of protecting yourself from patrols. The 0.50 sniper rifle only has a maximum scope magnification of 4x, rendering it pointless for long range engagement. The vehicles under control are a waste of time, no means of engaging enemies whilst driving; the 2nd character is not under your control. Enemies are very dim, with clichéd phrases, speaking to give away positions, and hardly challenging. The final showdown is just frustrating, more like an arcade game than anything else, enemy RIBs approaching the carrier under fire by half a company of Marines, yet you are the only player who can hit them? Utterly silly! All in all a waste of time and money, however cheap it may be.
