When it comes to adventure, they say the more the merrier, which is why Kuat created the Add-On accessory for their NV 2.0 rack, which lets you go from carrying 2 bikes on the back of your car to four in no time. Just like the standard cradles that came with your NV 2.0 rack, the Add-On includes an adjustable front tire cradle system, fully integrated cable locks, and is Trail Doc compatible.Features: Compatible only with Kuat NV 2.0 2" hitch receiver model Adjustable front tire cradle system Fully integrated cable locks Trail Doc compatible Front tire ratchet design with intuitive release Rear tire strap features co-molded strap to protect wheels Premium gloss metallic powder with water transferred logos

Good gear - transparent, functional.
I got the base rack, this extension, the workstand, the HiLo (extension), and a hitch lock. It's good stuff. I wanted to get the Sherpa but my wife wanted the ability to haul friends' bikes, too. She drives a Jeep Wrangler and I have to admit that it is fun to pile into her toy car with the top and doors off and go on adventures like high school.I was concerned that this one is so heavy that she wouldn't be able to remove/install it by herself, or even operate it. It's easy enough for anyone to operate, and we just leave it on. For people with short arms and this extender installed, you will have to figure out how to stand to be able to reach the latch. My wife is 5'0" and she can raise and lower the rack and get her own e-bike onto the rack. She lifts the front tire onto and just rolls it into place. The hardware that holds the bikes is easy to use and reliable so far. We drove from Kansas City to Des Moines, IA (2.5hrs) for a weekend and the bikes didn't budge. There isn't much to say about gear like this - there are no issues. Everything works like you would expect, and it vanishes into the background.Oh, one gripe - they don't offer a lock that both holds the HiLo firmly AND is keyed the same as the rack/extension.

Easy to assemble. Doubles your carrying capacity and not too heavy to remove from vehicle.
I have owned the NV 2.0 for over a year now and have brought a 3rd bike in the back seat with much effort to remove wheels and get gear in etc. I am single, however, I like to ride more than one kind of bike on an outing and also have my son who visits from time to time. That being said I wanted this ad on for some time but was wondering if it would be worth the investment. Well let me tell you it is! It came very well packaged and assembled in a very short amount of time. I had already ridden the day that I assembled it so I was eager to try it out the following day. The first bike to load is an older downhill bike that weighs every bit of the 50 lb per bike weight limit. Then a fat tire bike and a road converted mountain bike. I knew I had made the right decision to but the ad on the moment I had to decide which bikes (plural) extra to bring! I realize that everyone might not want to a=carry more than one bike if you are riding solo so if you simply need to carry three or four bikes for you and your crew this is the way to go. As other have stated it ads some to the weight when loading and unloading it from the hitch, however, I found it to be a nominal amount. The cable locks for the rear (the add on) are keyed differently as stated, however, no problems and it came with 4 keys. Also included is one fat bike kit and if you call the manufacturer they will ship you another at no cost. Helpful as I have many fat bikes. I was grinning all the way to the trail and back home. Handles rough back roads and the interstate at speed with ease. Very glad to have made the purchase. Comes with every tool needed for assembly.GOD BLESSjohn

Kuat quality and appeal!
Great Bike Rack! I don’t mind. Spending the money on something with a lifetime guarantee and something that can handle any bike I purchase in the future despite Frame design. Only catch is with 4 bikes

Well built!
Quick shipping! Arrived a day earlier than promised. Very sturdy and allows to transport a variety of bikes. I finally upgraded from a Thule big horn rack and am not disappointed. Easily cradles a 29er, no issues! Worth every cent.

It’s very sturdy!
I was shocked at how well this addition rode. I was worried it would bounce and it was so impressive! Kuat did an amazing job!

Everything you love, but 50% more
It’s a no brainer if you already have a Kuat NV 2. I moved to carrying 4 bikes in back after adding a roof top tent. The same reason the Kuat works so well applies to the extension. Rigid compression fitment at the hitch so it doesn’t bounce or rattle. Great bike capture and tray support. Mine even had an upgraded lock mechanism in the integrated cable locks. All works the same even with the addition of this longer cantilever.I will note it’s heavy and it’s hard to reach the lever to raise and lower the rack pivot. You can reach through, or build a breaker bar, etc.
