I have this hat in another color, so I knew I’d like the fit & feel. I wear hi viz clothing on job sites. This hat keeps my ears warm on rooftops & is thin enough that I can stuff it in a pocket once it warms up

Very thin and light. Kind of like the fabric they make t-shirts out of. It is very long, so it cuffs up almost to the top. That is good, because the fabric is not very warm (not enough volume to trap much air) so the extra layer adds a bit of insulation. I do wear it outdoors for brief excursions. It also makes a good base layer with a stocking cap or hood over it. Unfortunately that defeats the visibility of the flourescent yellow. TBD how it holds up when I have to wash it.

honestly, i like my meriwool hat better than this one. however, i wanted one in safety yellow. meriwool didn't make one in that color, so i went with this one. this one is just as warm and comfortable as the meriwool hat, but i like the way the meriwool hat fits better than this one. i am new to using merino wool. my favorite thing about both hats, i can wear them all day. i don't start sweating when i come inside. with my basic hats if i get one that is warm enough while outside, my head will sweat when i come inside. i'll be buying more merino wool products.

Fits well, warm, but light.
