From the beginning of the book I didn't think much of Michelle and her family. They were very disrespectful when they kept inviting her ex boyfriend over every time Jason and Michelle visited the family. I felt Michelle didn't love him and was a coward when she refused to face him and listen to him one last time before divorcing him. I never suspected him once and felt very sorry for him. Although, I suspected the real culprit from the beginning, the ending was a surprise. I'm still sorry Michelle's family didn't pay for what they did to Jason.

Great read
Ya know I really enjoyed this book except for the language that was totally unnecessary. That's the reason for the four instead of five star rating

Very intense… I couldn’t put it down!
An intense, often heart wrenching, story that had me reading long after I should have been asleep. I just couldn’t put it down. This is so well written that I, as the reader, could feel the horror and frustration of the protagonist. After I finished reading, I couldn’t shake the feeling of how awful prison must be and then compounded by being innocent. This excerpt said it all for me:“Your prison is a living hell that does nothing to rehabilitate. It only dehumanizes and degrades. You can’t control the evil inside. You can’t even control the evil within your own guards.”An excellent read that is not for the faint of heart.

I couldn't put this one down!
There's a lot in this book that's hard to read, rape, hard language, murder... It's not for everyone. But bravery and truth wins.

Tugs at the Heartstrings... justice definitely was blind
2 1/2 stars...How do you describe a book that shows evil in so many directions. Jason was set up from the get-go. The only innocent ones here were Jason and April.... the daughter he didn't know he had. Oh, and April was lied too also... all her life.Look at what all those lies cost. All those 'good people' were responsible for many brutal, horrible deaths of young girls. Their lies allowed a pedophile roam free for 20 years because they framed an innocent man. Why? They didn't want him in the family and/or they wanted his wealth. Two cops were involved.... One didn't like Jason, his daughter's husband, and the other wanted that daughter for himself. He use to be her finace until he cheated on her and she left him. The dad was guilty as sin by pursuading his wife, the daughter's mother, to lie in court. As for the ex, he saw the opportunity for a second chance with the 'one he let get away'. No, he didn't plant evidence against Jason but he sure didn't do anything to seek out the truth. Then there's the lying sister who wanted Jason's money. See, Jason was a very successful financial advisor. If the sister got her young daughter to lie about Jason, he would go to prison and she could take his money in civil court. This book's title is way off base. Jason did nothing wrong to be redeemed, and all those 'good people' got off Scott free. So what if they if they perjured themselves or created evidence to frame Jason. They all got what they wanted while Jason lost everything. The dad, mother, sister all need to see what it's like behind bars. What they did to Jason was not only horrible, but illegal... plus what they did cost many little girls to be abused and literally butchered to death. So this book makes a good case for the saying ... 'Justice Is Blind'.

So much filler
The writing made me want to get out my red pen, but the plot held my interest. There's so much filler, or padding, in these pages. Do we really need to know she wiped her tears with the side of her right index finger? Or that she flopped down on the sofa with a bag of Utz barbeque potato chips? Or that it took her three trips from the dining room to the kitchen in order to clear the table? It gets tiresome after a while.

Impressive!
I just finished this book. This is a book that we do not easily forget. It was very hard to put it down, and I will certainly start reading more books by this author. If it would be possible I would give it 6 stars.

This story evokes many feelings!
It is difficult to describe the feelings that this story evokes. There are so many twists and turns and variety of evil all of which a reader may identify and recognise from life as we experience it today. False accusations, small town prejudices, family squabbles, parental imbalances, and just plain monetary greed. The author has done an exceptional job in addressing these human failings and bringing them together in a story that is easy to read and difficult to put down. It covers several stages of life of the main character and other central characters. From teenage indiscretions (if we can call growing up that), family life, renewal of family life after unthinkable accusations are “legally” proven, imprisonment, violence in the prison system, exoneration after new evidence and the need for the subsequent generation to know the truth, when there are many plausible reasons for the truth to be kept secret. An excellent read which makes the reader really think about life as we know it today!Moses

Good story
Enjoyed the book , kept me interested. Good to have a positive end to the story. A little more information about the missing children would have brought the story together better.
