La SportivaMens TX2 EVO Leather Approach/Hiking Shoes

I am very happy with these shoes. I tried the women's size 10 but they were way too tight. I then ordered these in a man's 9.5 and they are perfect. They are a little on the narrow side which is perfect for me. I am looking forward to wearing them in Patagonia next month.

I bought these shoes for light scrambling on dryfalls and ledges, and for that purpose they're quite good. Neither my skills nor my old feet need a full-on climbing shoe, but my hiking boots don't have enough stickiness nor the feel. The Sportivas stick well, especially under the toes, and are stiff enough to edge a little bit. That said, they are NOT climbing shoes, and for my they are NOT trail shoes -- I would not want to walk any great distance in them. They are, however, light enough to stick in a daypack so that you can get past that 12-foot fall that was a little too scary with just your hiking boots.

A well-designed hiking shoe, but they run extremely small. I wear 9 1/2 and I had to order a size 11 to appreciate the workmanship.

Best hiking shoes I have ever owned. I wear them as everyday shoes. Very supportive, for work and play.
