StanbroilController Replacement for Traeger Pellet Grills, Upgraded Control Panel Replacement with 7" RTD Temperature Sensor Probe

Bought this to replace a shorted control board on my Traeger pellet smoker. Installation was fairly easy with some wiring knowledge and works great, 3 months of smoking and no issues yet

I am back to grilling. It was super easy to install.

Easy to install works very well

This was easy to setup but I was having some wide temperature swings until it had been on for 10 minutes or so. Thought things were going well but now it won't go on at all. Changed out the fuse and still nothing. Checked other reviews (should have done that first) and see it is a common problem. I have emailed Stanbroil through the Amazon site and from their website. If they give me any satisfaction I'll update this review.As an update to my first one star review, I emailed Stanbroil directly (through their website) and got a quick reply. They were able to have Amazon ship me a new one (couldn't do it free they said but 99% off so cost me 65 cents).

Run away..do not buy..Got it quick, have swapped controllers before. I ordered this one as it was same day because my fan wouldn’t kick on. Replaced easy. I selected from smoke to 180 setting and temp jumped to 350 in grill. Could not turn it to anything to keep it from heating all the way. Now even smoke starts jumping up. Just installed this morning, will be returning and putting brisket in the oven..grrr

It installed fine in my Members Mark Pellet grill. Same color wires and all. The screws on the prob and the actual control panel didn’t perfectly match but that was expected since it was made for Traeger and not the Members Mark, but it was easily modified to fit. The biggest issue I have with it is the temperature control is not good. I’ll set it to 180 and it get up close to 300. It’s inconsistent but mostly always on the hot side. I’d rather it be the opposite for smoking.

Since I replaced the factory circuit board with this one, my Traeger constantly trips my GFI. The grill will never heat above 150 degrees prior to tripping it. I am forced to run an extension cord to get my grill to work.

Replaced my treager control after it died and took out my auger motor. Replaced it has worked great for about 2 years now. No issues and it was cheaper and faster than OEM. Also didnt change the temperature probe it came with as I didnt feel like removing the old one. It still works well.

70F temp swings so far. Set at 250. Hot as high as 290 low as 220.Was easy to install, bought because it was $20 for a temp probe or $55 for everything so replaced all.At least the probe is accurate enough I can get up to temp now.

This works well and was fairly easy to install. I have a Traeger and the this Stanbroil controller was a bit wider and deeper in a way that I couldn’t just angle to insert. So I had to use a dremel to widen the opening.My only complaint is the large temperature step at the top of the range from 375 to High (450). I would have liked 400 in between there.The thermometer seems high by about 30 degrees, which is inconvenient, but I’ll do more testing and perhaps adjust it.

This thermostat kit was a new life for our 20-year-old Traeger. It fit perfectly, was easy to install and was great value for money compared to the Traeger brand. We can now control the temperature more easily and my partner is pretty sure it is making the other components more efficient. All around very pleased with the purchase 1 month in.

I ordered this and installed in in my z grill because I didn't want to get the right part from China. Everything fit and works great.
