A great HSF replacement
I originally got this to replace the heat sink in a Dell Dimension 8200 that had quite literally fell off... I got this with the Intel P4 Socket478 Heatsink Retention Motherboard Bracket Module It was fairly easy to attach, and much more durable than the original dell heat sink. It also runs much cooler even after I upgraded the CPU to a 3.0GHz P4. This is a great product if you need a socket 478 heatsink and fan.

Good cooling fan. Relatively quiet.
Quiet fan compared with another INTEL fan C33218-002, which it replaced. The old fan was loud from the beginning. The difference is probably the profile of the blades. The replaced fan have straight blades, while this replacement fan have blades that curve in multiple directions. From my experience with INTEL fans, the CPU is about 10 degrees fahrenheit cooler. Other after market CPU cooling fan may be more quiet, but does not cool as well.

Frys told me to buy this item
When I tried to install this item, it didn't fit and obviously was the wrong item for my computer. Frys told us which item to purchase for our computer, which is an older computer. In the installation, trying push it into place, one foot broke off. Well, I couldn't send it back obviously! So the whole situation was so frustrating that I ended up gutting the computer, donating the case and just want to forget the whole situation!
