This may not be a new movie, but it’s filmed well and the actors are good. If you are looking for a good faith stirring, and encouraging movie you’ve found it. Bring out the tissue!

This is one of my all-time favorite movies… I may be overly fond of true stories that point to God.

My husband and I really enjoyed it.

Movie was so good!!! Made my wife and I both cry!! God is good man and the fact that this movie is based on a true story blows my mind to know how AWEsome God is to work miracles out in the lives of us people who don’t deserve his love and mercy!

Faith like Potatoes does a fine job of telling Angus Buchan's story. We have shown it to a number of people. Generally we like to show the documentary first so people are familiar with Angus and his life and can follow the story with a deeper appreciation when they view the movie. To me the most important issue is that Angus' story challenges each of us to read God's word and act on His leading. Overall it is a great film. The tractor scene with his nephew is painful, but if you watched the documentary you are aware of what is coming & can forward through if you choose. In another set of scenes they portray Angus unrealistically working over a stump with a pitiful little hatchet until his workers show him a better way. Angus & the actor portraying him are clearly more intelligent than that so just overlook the absurdity and smile at the building of comradarie.

Faith Like Potatoes is highly based on a true story and is a fascinating and unique film. To start, it's based in Africa. How many films have you seen that are based in Africa? If you're anything like me, probably not too many.It tells a story that might seem kind of boring: a farmer dealing with farming life in Africa and how that intersects with his personal faith journey. But in actuality, it's much more interesting and exciting than you might think. This movie held my interest just fine. It was well-produced and directed and had decent enough acting. Some of the visuals and scenery are just astounding and made me wish this movie was available on Blu-ray rather than just DVD.At the core of this movie is a strong emphasis on faith and trusting God - even to do the "impossible" - even when it is uncomfortable or others think you're nuts. This movie showcases a vibrant, practical faith - one where the supernatural can and does occur. Some may quibble with one thing or another, but the general vibe of the movie I believe to be on solid footing. We need a bit more "active, practical faith" lived out and showcased to the world around us today. Either this Christianity thing is real or it's not. And if it is (and it is) then that ought to be evident to those around us. This movie helps stir us all up along these lines. As for the story itself, it was definitely interesting, however I did feel that the last minutes of the movie seemed very rushed. The crux of the movie occurs at the end, and yet, it seemed like it wasn't "finalized" because it needed another 15 minutes or so of film time. I don't know if the filmmakers ran out of money or just decided the movie was running too long, but it feels like you need more of the backstory - more exploration of the character's faith and why/how he was trusting the way he was. Although the story was "resolved", it wasn't a "satisfying resolved" - they didn't really "seal the deal" of the message they were trying to send. With that said, this was still a worthwhile movie and an uplift! A tip: If, like me, you're not used to the accents of the characters in the movie, you might find it much more enjoyable to watch with the subtitles on.One note of warning: This movie has a bit of mild language and an intense bloody scene that I honestly found hard to watch. This movie is really a GREAT Faith movie!! At first it seems to start slow - but keep watching - it gets better. It helps with the idea of having faith in the Lord and what the Lord can do for you. It is about a man who has no faith and not a very nice person, through to a man who ends up needing and finding great fatih.

I'm looking forward to watching this as I've seen it on God channel,which has moved to another provider. So,rather than miss it I bought the dvd to keep.

A lovely challenging movie that has you thinking about what real faith in action is.

Ce film raconte l'histoire vrai d'un homme violent et plus ou moins raciste...avec une femme formidable.Une rencontre avec Jésus Christ au travers du témoignage d'un fermier va complètement le transformer. Face aux nombreuses difficultés qu'il rencontre il va alors agir avec une foi simple et entière et vivre de nombreux miracles. Cette foi simple bouscule les habitudes religieuses des églises chrétiennes traditionnelles mais va atteindre de très nombreuses personnes aussi bien parmi les fermiers blancs quie parmi les zoulous (et oui... l'histoire se passe en Afrique du Sud).Un film passionnant qui décape la religiosité vous ramène à une foi authentique (comme celle d'un enfant).

Habe mir den Film bis jetzt erst einmal angeschaut, aber sicherlich nicht zum letzten mal. Ich würde den Film denen empfehlen, die Gott ein bisschen näher kommen möchten, aber nicht so genau wissen wie. Die Geschichte beruht auf einer wahren Begebenheit, das macht ihn auch so besonders. Er ist emotional und einfach schön anzusehen. Ein Film für die ganze Familie!!!
