A little Different than Prior SAS Journey
I have worn SAS Journeys for a long time. I buy new ones every two years. I know this is at least the third set of two. I have them in both black and white. In the past they were my favorite walking shoe ever and merited the price point of about double many other walking shoes. The only one to rival them was the old Rockport ProWalker when the company was a different company (The shoe cost $125 back in the 1980s). Although the two new pairs look almost like the old ones I bought two years ago, they have narrowed the heel box about 1/2 of an inch. I cannot tell if the front of the shoe differs or not, but the change in the back makes it fit just a bit differently. The front of the shoe stretches more and is more difficult to take exact measurements. I like the old, more generous heel better. I am not going to return them because they still probably are better than anything else I have tried in terms of a walking shoe. I do have Clarks that are quite comfortable for other casual or work wear, but they are not great for the gym and exercising. I do like that the company is still a US company and I am not complaining about the price. Two of my favorite shoe stores (the Shoe Box in Black Earth Wisconsin and Schuler Shoes in MN) have quit carrying them in stock because of their price point, but they will order them. This is the first time I have bought them online. When I say they fit somewhat small, they only feel smaller in the heel. The size I ordered was 9W--just the same as in the past.

Not what I was expecting this time
In the past few years I’ve ordered several pairs of these, just by going back into my order history and clicking “buy again.” It always brought me shoes that were all-black with all-leather uppers. The reorder photo and description matched that. This time, however, when they arrived, I noticed the box was marked Journey “Mesh.” Sure enough, when I opened the box, I found several patches of mesh where leather had been, and large gray stripes. I was in dire need of new shoes and didn’t want to wait on the two-week turnaround to try to get the all-leather ones so I went ahead and kept these. They are all right for walking, which is my primary use. However if you are buying these thinking that they could pass as casual dress shoes, you would be sorely disappointed. These clearly look more like athletic shoes than the all-leather versions.

SAS
SAS shoes are great and this pair was no different, yes Pricey but not when you compare the durability of these verses others. My SAS shoes normally last me at least 5 Years try that with a lower quality brand and even some not so inexpensive name brands still well worth the money. Also my SAS are comfortable from the first time on my foot and this pair did not disappoint. This pair is replacing a pair that is 8 Years old. So Great shoe, Great Value and bonus, Made in the USA.

SAS Men's Journey Sneaker
I bought a super wide size for hubby - WWW - It was well made, but I had to return it. Amazon and company were great. Looked really solidly built. Ordered a smaller size. Wonderful product. Came very fast and well packaged.

SAS Shoes Worth the $$
Great all leather walking shoes. Similar style to a pair of tennis shoes I recently purchased from SAS. Quality is better then Clarks!

Great walking shoes made in the USA
These are pricey, but last well. I am on my third generation. I do like the prior edition a bit better because they made the heel a little narrower than my prior pair. I actually measured the difference, but you may not notice it. I have them also in black. I like they are actually made in the USA. I wear the wide version. I also like the New Balance double wides.

I have hesitated to pay up for comfort for too long, If you work on your feet theseare for you. I will never again put a price threshold on comfort & pain relief....Great job SAS......

Very Comfortable
Most comfortable shoes I've bought in many years. I've bought many pairs of shoes that needed a painful breaking in period. These shoes were comfortable at the first use, which was a long walk. I do long daily walks for exercise and these shoes make it a pleasure.
