Does what it's supposed to do
Product was a replacement for an old Ruud condensing unit, worked great. Was replacing a three wire motor, the five wire works fine as long as you wire it per the instructions that come with the replacement motor. Highly recommended if needed.

Buyer Beware!
The motor I received was defective. I'm an electrican and have been wiring up motors for over 30 years. The run winding was open so I took exception to being told I could have wired it wrong. I bought another motor exactly like this one from a local dealer (after I tested it) to my A/C back and it works fine. Not only did they send me a junky motor, I had had ship it back at my expense to get my money back! No Cool! Only positive was the capicator and contactor were fine.

and everything is working just fine still. Very easy to install
Replaced an old 3-wire motor with this last August, and everything is working just fine still. Very easy to install. Initially installed it with fan blade spinning wrong direction, swapped the wires that were supposed to be nutted together, and resolved the directionality. Would purchase again.

Compatible but not a direct drop-in replacement
Most importantly, the motor works-- fan turns and the AC blows cold air. Slight downside, because I'm loath to call it a problem, is that this is not an exact same, drop-in replacement. It is more of a universal or general-purpose model that's meant to replace a range of different models of this size and power rating. You can even reverse rotation by switching the connection of a pair of shorter wires coming out from the motor.First off, the wiring. This is a four wire model whereas the motor I replaced was a three wire (Rheem 51-21855-02). I attached a picture of the wires coming from the motor-- there is also a green/yellow ground wire attached to the case. Two of the wires (the ones going to the run capacitor) have female spade connectors. The two in the middle (black and white) go to the 220 lines. A 7.5 uF run cap was included in the box which was not mentioned in the product details. If you connect the run cap to the spade connectors and connect 120V across the black and white wires, you can test that the motor works. Be careful because the run capacitor terminals are energized! In order to wire it for my application, I had to crimp on spade connnectors to the black and white wires, cut off one of the supplied spade connectors and insulate it. The instructions supplied with the motor explain all this.Second, the motor case bolts are longer than the original. These stick out about an inch on the front AND back face of the motors whereas they are almost flush front and back in the original. I needed to trim these off with a Dremel because my motor sits flush with the top cover and there are no holes in the cover to allow relief. And lastly, remember to remove the correct set of drain plugs depending on mounting orientation.

Got my ac back up and running for a good price

Piece of scrap iron
It was pretty and matched up to the old motor that I removed. Only issue is that the motor only lasted for 10 minutes or less and quit. JUNK as far as I am concerned! I went to my local HVAC vendor and purchased a motor, installed it and it is working flawlessly.
