work well, ppl need to read instructions
So, many complain that the connection process is annoying, does not work, ETC ETC . i had bought initially 4 to test them all out, and they were good, so ended up buying two more for my relatives as gifts and because I have one for which I have not found a use after Christmas is over. Yeah, for first time setting up, ALL plugs you intend to use need to be one meter or max 4 feet away from a wifi access point and it needs to be 2.4 ghz. I believe this is because of speed and data transfer rates and so on. So connect your phone to that network first, then use the smart life app to connect them to the network. When you plug them in, press the button they have for about 5 seconds (they turn off then back on and you hear the clicking noise) Then, use the app to scan for a new plug. These take about 20 to 40 seconds to be scanned and paired up with the local network, so give it time. Then update the firmware for each one. In total I guess it takes about 10 minutes if you buy 4, to get set up.Usage is straightforward and you can create scenes, or everyday routines with scheduled times using smartlife. I connected my google account to that so there is no need to create more accounts on more sites and so on. Also, in the last couple weeks I have been using these, no malfunctions whatsoever, no overheating, no funny things with scheduling even when network is down, they work from several feet (about 50 or so) away from the access point (I guess they use ethernet powerline approaches or the electric circuit on the entire house to communicate with the net) and of course, no spying which is by far the most ridiculous complaint with the cheaper smart plugs.Sometimes if you control them manually they might take more than a second to turn on or off, but then again network and internet does have its lag from time to time with whatever service you might use. ONLY drawback I found is that you cannot use two bulky connectors on a single electrical outlet, these are not as thin and so sometimes you must use one per electrical outlet but you can solve that easily by plugging them into a short extension cord or beside a cable that does not take much space, or as part of a power strip and so on.

Round plug
1. Beware plugs are round. Meaning 2 can not go in the same standard US outlet. I didn’t realize that. 2. My ATT router name is both 2.4 and 5g, super hard to rename per instructions for general users. Easier way was to set up a guest network that was 2.4g only for setup. So held back a couple stars. Website, no help! Able to get on Alexa and Google Home. This brand was not easily found, but relatively easy to add to Alexa. I am not attempting to discourage, however, read 1 and 2, they work!

Great for my grandparents
Bought my grandparents an Alexa and they use the plug in to turn on lights and call family and they love it.

Good except the settings in the smart life app
So every brand can set their own settings in smart life. This brand decided to make the minimum minutes and not seconds. Which means I over water my plants.Besides this, it's good. But this is a huge down side for me as it's the main reason I got this To Irrigate several plants. But I need a x seconds on and xmin off. Not a minutes on and minute off.

Works great
Delivered on time, and easy to use. Works great with Alexa. Only took a few minutes to install. Set up with the Smart life app, with my other plugs and light bulbs. Will be ordering more latter.

FOR ME THE ALTERNATE METHOD TO GET THEM ON LLINE WAS BY FAR THE BEST.
After installation they seem to work just fine

Had to use two apps to install on alexa app. Somewhat confusing.

Good plugs but took multiple try to setup
The setup procedure doesn’t work all the time. It took multiple tries to configure the plugs. Once configured, they work flawlessly.

The actual plugs work ok … but …
… the Osaio app is wonky. The connection of the plugs to the app was relatively easy. I had to close and re-open the app a couple of times to get the plugs to show up and connect. Also, there were two of the four that needed a firmware update and that went easily without any hiccups. However, since we don’t use Alexa here, we had to use the Osaio app. If any of you are in the same boat, be warned:1) Only one person can be logged into the app at any one one time. If my wife is logged in and I want to turn lights on or off, I have to log in and then it logs her out. She will need to log in again to turn a light off. Osaio need to come up with a way for multiple logins to be on the app the same time.2) The app will randomly log you out… sometimes every 24 hours or randomly every few days. Want lights on… log in.So … a 4/5 as it could be easier. We have other apps around the house that work well with multiple users and easy, stable apps … LG ThinQ comes to mind.Good price, good product, flaky app… it’s ok.

Impossible to connect
I recieved these and plugged in the first one and it made a connection right away without issue. Went to set up a second and everything stopped working and couldn't get anything to connect. Tried both AP and EZ methods and nothing. Eventually the first one stopped working as well. I'm very technologically inclined yet I'm even stumped by them. I suspect the wifi module inside is weak and simply can't connect unless they're right beside a router, but that wouldn't explain how the first one connected just fine.

Initial Set up Great
Arrived yesterday, quick delivery. Connected 3 of them to Smart Life App, as I have it for other smart devices already. Used both methods to connect, took less than a minute to connect each one, either method worked fine & quick for me. Software update request came during set up and went very quickly. Programming start/stop timers for each independently was very quick and easy. I do not see dusk to/or dawn timing option, maybe I am just missing it, but not a showstopper for me.I am by no means an expert on smart devices and Apps. One thing I see is there is the App Smartthings, and one called SmartLife (which I use for these smart sockets), be sure you are using for the correct app, as often I see items often do not connect to both apps. Overall, very happy with initial set up, all 3 working as hoped, would certainly recommend at this point, and will purchase another set of 4.

The Chinese app is pretty bad
You’d think they could make a decent app, but.. then you’d be wrong. To make this plug work with Alexa, you must create an account with a sketchy Chinese app called Osaio. The app is quite hard to use and who knows where your data is going. Is Xi Jin Ping going to turn your lights off one day? Nobody knows.
