Legend of the Christmas Stocking

Beautiful illustrations and a wonderful story. This book wordings was a little too advanced for my 3-year old but the illustrations alone got his attention and made him kept listening. My 6-year old didn't care at first about the book. He kept running around - not the books' fault at all. He was just too excited for the next day because we read it on a Christmas Eve and he couldn't wait to open the presents in the morning. But I didn't know know he was actually listening to the story. At last pages he sat with us and when I asked him, he actually understand what is happening and he understood a great lesson - a lesson not just for kids but even for adults.

Read this book more than a few times to my grandchildren and they loved it. The delivery was prompt as I found at the last minute, only on Amazon. I was glad to pack it in my suitcase for the trip. Amazon Thank you for your service!❤

Granddaughter loved the book

It's a beautifully illustrated book. I wanted a little MORE from the story--at the moment I couldn't exactly explain WHAT it was that I wanted, it just doesn't quite enchant me the way some stories do. My girls could take it or leave it. They haven't really requested it. We will see as they grow older into the age range this book was designed for. That being said, my oldest DOES request books from this reading level with frequency, just not this one. So, would I buy it again, sure!

Ties back to St. Nicholas and how we ended up with Christmas Stockings. Good book for your Catholic book collection, specifically for Advent and Christmas. It's not a saint biography as you can obviously tell from the Amazon summary, but it's wholesome and appeals to large audience with little children.

I sent this book to my grandchildren a couple of states away. It's a Christmas ritual that I send several Christmas books for them..it's more fun for me than for them I think. I got raving reviews from all of them. The children are 6,4,and 2. They wanted mommy and daddy to read it over and over again. I was so pleased they enjoyed it so much!

A colorful book and lovely drawings to accompany a well-thought out story.Children will learn much about giving in this story not just for Christmas, butall through the year. Illustrations make this book so very attractive and the storyis excellent.

This is a pretty good book and I do like the way it summarizes the legend of the stockings. The only thing that I really didn't care for is how, after the boy in the story learns a nice lesson about giving unselfishly to other, he ends up being given the toy of his dream anyway. While I'm sure that is really great for him, it sort of takes away something from the story for me.

Un cuento de Navidad de los que llaman al espíritu navideño. A pesar de estar en inglés, el lenguaje es claro,y no por ello podía dejar de perderme esta historia tan bonita. Lo recomiendo.

Beautiful story. Got it to read out loud to my 9 and 4 year old. Perfect for St. Nicholas day as it ties in his story to the young boy's experience at Christmas time and how he learns about giving to others in need. Beautifully illustrated as well.

One of my daughters has the tradition of a new Christmas Themed book every Christmas.....the first was the Legend of the Snowflake. She plans to add to her 'collection' and enrich the experiences of her Family each year.We recommend these books to everyone!
