Dry they are 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches. When wet they expand slightly but not a lot. However they are very absorbant.

Thank you for your inquiry. They don't need to be washed before first use. The cloths are intended to be used when wet so we do recommend that you dampen and wring out the cloth when you use them.

Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, when dry, they are pretty stiff. Once dampened, they are a great multi-use cloth for wiping spills, cleaning and drying dishes.
