This biography of Selwyn F Edge (known as SF) is also a fascinating history of early Motor cars, but also covers Bicycle history in the late 19th century, and how SF - and other key Motor car men (and occasional woman) - were involved in Bicycle racing and manufacturing and Tyre production before moving on to early Motor car manufacture and racing. SF was pivotal in getting Montague Napier to start making Napiers, Britain’s foremost Motor car early on. Some hairy racing stories, both involving bicycles and then cars ! Beautifully illustrated book.A great read - you don’t need to know anything about cars (or bikes) to enjoy it.
