I have not tried that, but...as long as your mattress topper isn't really hot, I don't see why it would be a problem. People without A/C can have rooms in the 80s or 90s, and those temperatures don't bother it.

Q: Is this a cooling topper?

I see that it is advertised as being a cooling mattress topper, though that is not why I purchased it. I purchased it because I had a perfectly good mattress that was extra-firm and wanted to soften it so that it was more comfortable. Mission accomplished. The bed feels really good now. Oh yes...while I didn't purchase it for its cooling properties, it does indeed provide a cooler night's sleep. I highly recommend this mattress cover.

Q: Is it better to purchase king sized sheets when using this on top of a mattress?

What is the height of your mattress, because this isn't so thick or so firm that you would need a larger size sheet set. If you wanted to use an extra deep sheet set in a queen size that would be a thought, because it wouldn't flatten the puffiness of this topper.
