I've taken this bag to over 17 countries. It'll work as a carry-on and even fit under the airplane seat if it's not expanded to full depth. I love the variety of pockets to organize my stuff, including the pocket by the straps in which I can put my passports, cash, etc. while it's on my back and not worry about pick pockets in crowds. I've even had to check it in a few times and it dealt well with the abuse of baggage handlers. I ended up buying a couple more for my wife and daughter. Pair this with some vacuum bags and you should have enough for at least a week's travel.

I’ve had this bag for almost a year, and it’s gone on numerous trips. I’ve consistently over-packed this bag and have had no quality issues with it whatsoever. It will easily hold a week’s worth of clothing and gear if you’re careful how you pack, and it is still small enough to be considered a “carry on” even by Spirit Airline’s stringent standards. Zippers are strong and easy to use, seams are tight and strong. The backpack straps are very easy to tuck into the pocket if you want to check it. The biggest surprise is how comfortable it is to wear! I’ve owned numerous backpacks over the years, including some higher-end hiking ones. This travel bag is the most comfortable of all of them for short-term wear! I had to literally walk fast/jog about a mile through Miami, Florida’s terminal to catch a connecting flight wearing this bag a few weeks ago. I am decidedly NOT a runner. But because this bag was well balanced and comfy to wear, I caught my flight in time!

I've been searching for that Goldilocks bag forever: something that's 1) lightweight, 2) can double as rollerbag or backpack, 3) has a ton of storage space, 4) is comfortable, 5) has a geometry such that it doesn't cause back pain, 6) is affordable, and 7) fits in the overhead compartment on a plane if you need it to. I think this fits every bill.The one downside is that it has a horrendous chemical factory offgassing smell when it arrives, so don't keep it in the room you sleep for a few weeks. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

OK, to be fair, I have not traveled with this yet, but having received this I am even more excited about my upcoming trip. I may actually get away with just taking this and leaving my suitcase behind. I do not have a laptop, so can use that space for some items. I like the expansion zipper, and the clasps on the size that will help me cinch in the bag. I might even be able to fit this under a seat which is a plus because I get really frazzled when there is no room in the storage area directly above my seat. It has a slot in the back for concealed pocket area, which zips, and is a perfect place for passports or wallet. It also comes with two packing bags and a shoe bag. It came with a lock, but I have zero idea what the combination is or how to lock it, but the combination was 000, so thankfully I was able to get it off the bag. This was not a big deal for me, but still, a piece of paper with a combination would have been nice to have.I have been searching for a bag that had the following:1) expansion capability and cinch straps to tighten the depth.2) water resistant3) durable fabric4) water bottle pocket (not sure how well bottle will stay in, but there is one there5) concealable shoulder straps (because sometimes I prefer to carry with a handle and those straps are a nuisance and a trip hazard)6) USB function - you need your own power-pack and cord, but there is an inside pocket for the charger. The cord that goes to the power pack was not already inside the bag, and we had to figure out how to get that in securely, not sure if that is standard or not.7) lightweight - this is as light as I can get with all these featuresZiippers seem to be durable, and overall I think it is going to function exactly as I had hoped.

We got this for a 3 wk euro trip. Love that it can both roll or go on ur back out of the way. That was a very useful feature for getting up and down some of those stair cases. The straps were pretty well paded, so it wasnt as uncomfortable to wear as it cud have been. It has a good bit of packing room, and love that it opens like a regular suitcase instead of a traditional backpack
