Impressive speed skates with some sizing and ankle issues.
I purchased the Bont Jet inline speed skates from Amazon for my wife and she has mixed feelings about them. My wife enjoys recreational skating and was looking for a pair of speed skates with excellent ankle mobility, these caught her eye. The rest of the review will be based on her feedback about the skates.I bought these skates mainly because of their unique design and lower ankle profile, which I believed would provide better ankle mobility compared to traditional inline skates. Upon receiving the package, I was eager to try them out. Getting started with the skates was straightforward. The included Jet Skate boot, 2PF 6061 frame, elemental wheels, and ABEC7 bearings all seemed well-made and of high quality. I encountered some difficulty with the buckles though as they have a different design compared to my previous skates, and it took me a while to figure out how to undo them. Eventually, I managed to unlock them and put the skates on.I followed Bont's size chart for guidance, but I found that the skates run long. I usually wear a women's size 7.5 wide shoe, and I ordered size 41 based on the chart. There is about a half of an inch of empty space between my toes and the front of the skate boot, indicating that these skates run a bit large. However, the width was suitable for me, and I was able to secure them around my feet using laces and a strap. The biggest disappointment with these skates was the tightness around the ankles. They were much too tight, which hindered ankle mobility and caused discomfort. It felt as if the skates were immobilizing my ankles more than taller skates do. This issue made them unsuitable for the ankle movement I was seeking. I plan to try heat-shaping the plastic around the ankles to improve the fit. According to manufacturer, if you need to heat-mold skate boots, you need to remove the blades with wheels, put boots in an oven at the very specific temperature (don't use the oven's temperature gauge, put inside your own for precise measurements), heat up the skates boots, and then you can mold them with your hands or a blunt object to improve pressure points or even put them on your feet (make sure they aren't too hot first) and get into your usual skating position and let them cool on your feet - this way boots will get the precise form to match your feet. This whole process requires some skill, practice, and patience, but I'm hoping for a successful outcome. Apart from the ankle issue, these skates performed really well. The wheels turn very smoothly, and the carbon fiber sole adds to their sturdiness and overall quality. And they look awesome on my feet!Once I hit the road with these skates, I experienced their true capabilities. The Jet Skate Boot provides excellent ankle support, allowing for efficient power transfer and enhanced control during high-speed skating. The 2PF 6061 Frame is lightweight yet sturdy, providing a stable platform for quick and agile movements. The Elemental Wheels offer impressive grip and smooth rolling, contributing to an overall comfortable skating experience. The ABEC7 Bearings ensure minimal friction, resulting in increased speed and effortless gliding.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with these Bont Skates. They deliver exceptional performance and comfort (if properly molded), making them an ideal choice for serious inline skaters and racing enthusiasts. The ability to heat mold the skates to my feet provided a custom fit that can significantly enhance my skating experience.*** TL;DR ***I would recommend the Bont Jet inline speed skates to individuals seeking a unique design and sturdy construction for speed skating. However, be cautious about sizing, as they tend to run a bit long. The ankle support may require heat-shaping to be comfortable, and the buckles might be tricky to handle. Overall, these skates have really great potential but come with few minor drawbacks. My rating is 5 stars, good product.+++ Pros +++1) Unique design with lower ankle profile.2) Sturdy construction with a carbon fiber sole.3) Potential for heat-shaping to improve the fit.4) Lightweight and sturdy 2PF 6061 Frame.5) Impressive grip and smooth rolling with Elemental wheels.6) ABEC7 Bearings for increased speed and effortless gliding.7) Great looking on your feet.--- Cons ---1) Sizing runs a bit large/long.2) Heat molding is required to provide comfortable ankle support.3) Difficulty with the buckles.

Buen precio, buenos patines.

So Neat, So Fast
So neat looking. I have never seen inline skates looking like this. But they are the fastest skates I have had on my feet in forever. I used to be a runner, I'm no longer able to run, so now I skate to get my daily exercise. I fly around the park. It's like I have wings with these skates on. Also, because of their unique look, I get lots of looks and even some people stop me to ask me about them. I of course give them as much info as I can, then continue on around the track. I have to give these Bont Jet inline skates 5 stars, and recommend them to others who like to skate.

What adult has ankles THIS small??
I was really looking forward to putting these speed skates through their paces, but unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to be possible. The boots run big for one, with a 37 fitting like a 38. I could make do with that if need be by using a thick sock. Also, I didn't bother with tracing my foot. I know my European shoe size and that's what I ordered. In US ladies sizing I am a size 7 more than 99% of the time. For sandal I order 36, for shoes and boots I get 37 and it always works out for me. These are big in the foot for a size 37.The real problem is how insanely tight the ankles are! Its like the ankles were made using children's proportions, then placed onto an adult boot. It makes no sense.Bont is an extremely reputable company with a storied history of innovation and quality skating products. These skates simply do not live up to that legacy. The ankles are extremely hard and rigid, and they cut into my ankle bones from all sides. They have zero give. The rest of the boot is adult sized and makes sense, but the ankles are ridiculous!I put the skates on and went for a short skate, but it was incredibly painful. And I'm not talking new skates before breaking them in painful. No, this was PAINFUL. There's no breaking these ankles in.I plan on baking the skate boots to see if I can loosen the ankles, but I highly doubt I'll achieve anything meaningful. Heat molding isn't designed to work in the upper ankle area of the boot. But I might as well try....The skates are otherwise incredible, with a closure system that looks really secure and comfortable. The tongue of the skate boot has velcro on both sides to prevent it from sliding around, and then there's the flap that closes over the laces and buckles. All of this is really nice, and the wheels/bearings move like they're made of butter. But those ankles.... someone seriously dropped the ball here.NOT RECOMMENDED>

I really wanted to like these
I was super excited about these skates until I realized I couldn't get my foot into them. I did the measurements like they described to do, picked out the size and waited for them to come in. I got the size tried to put my foot in and no bueno! These run small and it's been difficult trying to send them back for a larger size. So I cannot do a positive review because I cannot use these due to the sizing. I just wanted a bigger size swap not a return and buy all over.
