Perfect camera for the door
This camera is very useful for having around the home. The camera quality is good, the sound is clean and crisp and the battery lasts for a long time. The setup lasted quite a bit thought. Eventhough the wifi router was near, the device lasted a long time for the camera to connect with the wifi. After, the device sometimes drops the conection and does not work. But overall, the device works very well and the battery lasts for more than a month. A good camera that is very easy to setup, hard to steal and good quality.

I am genuinely pleased.
I got the white DoorCam3. Installation was very easy and intuitive. Pairing with my cellphone through device camera was a nice touch. I hung it on the door, did a few adjustments, and it was ready to use. It came with the batteries. It is nice to have the power adapter option though it is sold separately. The app has some cool features, such as enabling/disabling motion sensor, adjusting video quality, and 2-way talk capability, but it needs some work. The responsiveness is slow at times, and I had issues with connectivity a few times. Other than that, it is very neat. I contacted the customer service to ask questions about battery life and using the motion sensor. They were very attentive and polite. Definitely recommended.

REMO DOOR CAM2 IS VERY GOOD FOR APARTMENTS, HOUSES
*Love the fact it's an easy set up, over the door. Comes with a hex tool, tiny screws. You can secure it if your door allows. Mine has a recess in the top, but you can always use double-sided tape. (However, if you change your wifi-password, REMO must be reset). Reset is INSIDE behind the batteries. You must take the REMO down to re-scan during this process.*Batteries work fine. I haven't used the plug yet. 3 alkaline D cell batteries. Easily replaceable. The back of the REMO pops off for easy access.*If you live in an apt & the hall is always well lit, turn OFF night vision. Beautiful, color videos are the result. Good quality images.*Still trying to figure out the (accept/decline) on detection of motion, which is sporadic. If you accept, you are able to talk & end the talk, but REMO2 delays ... the motion detection. I don't know why. The person is gone before the "blue" motion light comes on, but you still have a video.*Biggest concern is the wifi goes off, after awhile. I kept getting this "Check to See if Door Cam wifi is on"-- message. REMO2 says my wifi strength is excellent.I went into the instructions, and attempted to do what the instructions stated, in order to keep this from happening. As a result, I'm not sure whether it captures ALL the motion in the hallway. Of course, this is what I purchased the camera for, in the first place.*Night vision works, but it's black and white video. The picture quality is pretty good. You can see faces clearly. Not sure how it would do if there were a lot of shadowed areas, however.*In conclusion, REMO2 is a good quality video camera. You MUST have adequate lighting, however, in the apartment hallway for HIGH QUALITY video. Night vision video is adequate; video picture is good. Camera makers need to come up with a tool that keeps the WIFI on/ no turn off, as that is how the REMO2 camera works. That would make it 100% reliable.

Behaves more like a prototype than a production product
This seemed like a simple way to have a camera by the door without having to drill anything. It needs more work though.Problems:- It only works with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, if you have neighbors occupying all the channels, getting and staying connected will prove difficult. My Wi-Fi is problematic because of this, however this is the only IoT device I had that was having any sort of connection issue.- The app said it failed a firmware update twice: I got two of these and both failed the firmware update their first time connecting.- It fails to stay connected and doesn't notify you when it has disconnected. The only way to verify that it is connected is to go into the app and bring up the live view or just walk in front of it to trigger the motion sensor. It seemed like it would work for a few hours at a time and then not connect anymore. The app would only say, "Please ensure your DoorCam 2 is connected to the internet" when you go to try and get a live view. I was able to ping it on my network so it was communicating. I'm unsure if this is due to a network issue or maybe their cloud services aren't working very well.- Power-cycling (pulling the batteries and reinserting) does nothing. The device seems to connect only when it feels like it. I did have more luck than not when I reset the wireless routers on the network but it wasn't consistent.- There simply isn't allot of advanced features, logging, or network tools.- Support only really helps with trying to get it connected to the Wi-Fi, otherwise they're limited. I was called once and walked through the same troubleshooting steps I'd already done to no avail. They said they'd call back but never did. Instead I got an email telling me to delete the product from the app and reset it again (done this at least a dozen times, most of the time it takes several attempts to re-register again).- The "sensing" light on the back would be consistently on when it failed to connect. Usually it was only on when motion was detected or a live view was triggered. The good parts:- When it works, the video quality is decent.- It does have two-way voice between your phone or tablet and the device so you can talk to whoever is on your porch.- It fits a standard door quite well and doesn't require drilling.- Notifications of activity were timely.I ultimately ended up returning this because it's not worth all the troubleshooting I've put into it.If you enjoy tinkering and troubleshooting allot this may be a product for you but if you want something that will work consistently and give you a notification that it is offline, you might want to look elsewhere.I'd be willing to try another iteration of this product, this one is not worth the effort.
