No, they are nice and soft. I have a sensitive skin but no problem at all.

I just wash in my regular laundry. I'm not too careful with my laundry...probably cold or warm and then dry in the dryer. They have held up well.

Q: Do they have a seam the length of the leg warmer?

Yes but it’s only on one side and for me it helps me know which leg to wear them on. I put the seam on the inside of my leg. I wear these legwarmers every day of the winter over top of my yoga pants they’re great for an added layer and they stay up.

Q: Will this fit a wide calf? What is the calf width?

The are about 12" inches long. The stretchy part at the top and bottom might be tight, but you can fold it over. The main part fits 15" around my calf and will stretch. As I said the top might be a problem where the knitting ends. I'm sure you can return them.
