Playa Fire: Spirit and Soul at Burning Man

The only book you need to understand and celebrate Burning Man.
If you have been to every Burning Man or just have an interest in the subject this is the only book you need to understand the event. Not only is it filled with wonderfully historical photographs of Burning Man from the very beginning, it also tells a very complete history of the event along with the intriguing politics that made it what it is today. The final chapter tells the heart warming story of the temple built and burned in Derry, Ireland in 2015 at the epicenter of the Irish “Troubles.” The binding, the printing and the reproduction are exemplary, I am sure this is a fairly limited printing so I think that 10 years from now the book will have actually increased in value to all those that own it.

Told with great insight and affection
Stewart Harvey offers his unique front-row perspective on the inspiration and development of the Burning Man event. Told with great insight and affection, he presents the truest possible picture of his brother, founder Larry Harvey. Plenty of people say they were there at the beginning, but only Stewart can claim he was there before the beginning, and then thankfully there with his camera the whole way through. A wonderful gift for the Burning aficionado in your life!

Excellent read!
Incredible photos by Stewart Harvey but the stories are what makes this book vastly different from what we has been written about Burning Man. This is a true history that gives unique insight into the genesis of Burning Man. Two brothers, raised on a farm in the 1950's: One goes on to found Burning Man while the other brother, camera in hand, captures it all. Excellent read!

but I bought this beautiful book for my sister-in-law
I've never been to Burning Man, but I bought this beautiful book for my sister-in-law, an artist who has been many times. The book's history of the event is fascinating and Stewart Harvey's images are gorgeous. This ended up being the best gift I've ever given, as my sister-in-law found a wonderful photo of herself in the book that she never knew existed! Really special book... and even tho I've never been to Burning Man myself, I've now bought a copy for myself, as it is stunning to experience Burning Man through the lens of photographer Harvey.

The book is amazing but why there are oily fingerprints and strong smell coming with the book?
