Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader

In the age of mobile photography, I find myself less and less using my DSLR because the effort required to take the photos, charge the battery and then take the card and move it to a computer, import, edit etc. etc. However, you simply can't beat a good DSLR, especially when matched with good lens glass.The solution for me has been this adapter and an Adobe Lightroom subscription.The device allows me to connect, without power, to transfer files (into Photos) and then import into Lightroom, and then the cloud. From there, I have my entire photo library, including shots from mobile devices if I want, and can edit from the iPad whilst sat in the living room. It's meant that I've been taking more photos with my DSLR, and more often.The adapter itself is as expected. It's Apple, it's white and it works perfectly. Transfer speeds are great, and it's small enough (and robust enough) to be kept in my camera case.** Pros **- Works perfectly- Small form factor- Fast transfer speed- No fussing to get it to work- Makes it easy and quick to transfer photos onto an iPad** Cons **- Obviously only works on an iOS device- Not great value compared to other vendors** Overall **A good adapter that works as you would expect, but also has the benefit of changing your workflow with DLSRs

Brought to download photos from various SD cards into my Apple family of tech via an iPad. I looked at non-Apple products but decided that for the small increase in price, a genuine Apple product would be preferable.Have downloaded many photos since purchase and it works really well and fast. Build quality is great and it should last a long time. A valuable addition to my photographic equipment.Highly Recommended. Little more cost than a non-branded product but it connects and works without any hassle.

If you are a photographer you'll probably be taking pictures in RAW and using Lightroom to edit your photos. Lightroom on iOS is now great, it can sync back with Lightroom Desktop so you can get a head start on culling, flagging, rating and basic editing on your iPad on the road and continue where you left off when you get back to your desk.I wanted the ability to import the RAW images into my lightroom whilst out on location or travelling for several weeks. I bought this and it does let me import my RAW images from my SD cards but there's a catch, you cannot import directly into Lightroom you have to import into iOS Photos app first and then import from Photos/Camera Roll into Lightroom then go back and delete the RAW images from Photos. This workflow is even worse if you've been shooting RAW+JPG, just stick to RAW only if you want to avoid problems.HINT: With the latest iOS you can now have "siri shortcuts" which are very powerful, I now have a Siri shortcut setup to delete recently imported RAW files once they've been added to Lightroom on iOS.

Great productWorks as it should

I bought this so I could edit photos on the go with my iPad rather than taking my MacBook with me. It arrived today and I tested it this afternoon, and so far, so good. I only shoot in RAW when taking photos and I was able to easily import my RAW files into my camera roll (or any folder that I chose). I was then able to edit the photos using my iPad apps, making the whole process very quick and simple. I recently bought a cheaper non-Apple brand and had to return it for a refund as after the first use the iPad would no longer recognise that it was plugged in. Although this adapter is more expensive than others, I'd rather pay that bit more and have a genuine Apple product that I know is going to work seamlessly with my other Apple products and can trust it will work when I need it to.

Great Christmas gift for a relative

A bit pricey but does exactly what I wanted. Saving cash a while ago by getting the base version GoPro (GoPro HERO Camera - English-French) meant that getting images off the camera was a laptop/computer job which when away on hols or out on the trails was quite annoying. Having this cable and a simple SD adapter meant I could quickly grab the images off the camera and import directly into my iPhone. You could find the fun stuff, bin off the rubbish and also save space on the camera by deleting once imported. The cable couldn't be simpler to use, put memory card in, plug into phone and load the photos app.The import window appears immediately and you can just poke and select.

Je suis photographe amateur et j’exporte mes photos sur ma tablette ou mon smartphone pour la post-production. Avant j’utilisais le système sans fil de mon appareil photo pour le transfert, mais j’obtenais une qualité médiocre comparé aux photos originales.Avec ce petit adaptateur, je transfère mes photos rapidement et sans perte de qualité ! Je l’emporte partout avec moi dans ma sacoche d’appareil photo.

Einstecken, SD-Karte rein, z.B. in Fotos gehen, evtl. etwas warten, bis „Importieren“ aktiv ist und dann Fotos wählen und importieren. So sind die Aufnahmen einer SD-Karte einer (älteren) Kamera ohne WLAN / Bluetooth im Urlaub auch auf ein iPhone zu sicher. Und von dort aus in der Cloud oder sonst wo.(Eben Apple-typisch (m.R.) ob gerechtfertigt oder nicht teuer.) Man spart sich die Versuche mit China-Nachgemachtem und die Erfahrung, ob es funktioniert, eine Weile funktioniert oder gar nicht funktioniert.
