Very nice computer microphone
This is my first computer microphone that's nicer than a $10 Circuit City mic. Maybe that's why I'm so impressed, but the recording quality is very good, and it's pickup is so good it even picked up the ticking of my office clock and the noise of my kids playing downstairs. The mic has its own headphone jack, so that's one less port that has to be taken up on your computer, and also reduces the distance that your headphones have to reach. There are volume knobs for each the microphone and headphones. The microphone lights up when on, and the lights turn off when the mic is muted (which can be done by tapping the top of the mic), so if you pay attention to the lighting you won't have to worry about a hot mic.

Excellent sound quality
I wondered how this mike would work for me. I like to video chat with family, and I've been having to rely on either the microphones built into webcams or the one on my laptop. Neither option was good if I wasn't wearing headphones, but even then, the sound wasn't great.Since I've gotten this microphone, I've been pleasantly surprised. It's not some high-end $200 item, but it has pretty good sound quality. I keep the volume knob turned up almost all the way, so that I can sit back away from the mike and still have it pick up my voice clearly. It has a small pop filter that seems to work somewhat. Probably not quite as well as the fancy ones, but it definitely sounds better than an unshielded microphone. I also use this while running a small air conditioner that sits right behind me, and the wind and noise from that don't interfere much. I've been able to carry on casual conversations with people thousands of miles away.Of course, if I get up to go to another part of the room, people can't hear me so well. The volume is pretty fixed, not adapting to my sound level, and if it did, ambient sounds would certainly interfere. It uses USB, so it avoids a lot of the hum and interference that analog microphones get, which is good because with it positioned on my desk, it's pretty close to my monitor. Still, it does catch some environmental noise, even noise I don't notice. When I saw the lights, I wasn't really interested in that aspect, but after using it I've noticed that the lights are a good reminder of whether the unit is muted. When you mute it (touch button on top), the lights go out.The unit has a USB host cable, which plugs into the bottom of the microphone housing. The cable barely fits between the microphone and the base of the stand, but I haven't had any problems with it yet. It also has a headphone jack (1/8 inch standard) on the back of the housing and a separate volume knob for the headphones plugged in there, but I use a separate (wireless) set of headphones for some extra freedom. With headphones on, no sound coming through leaks back to the microphone, so that's a good arrangement. The base has decent weight and, overall, the unit feels stable and rugged enough for normal use. Key components feel as though they're made from metal rather than plastic. Also, I've asked multiple people, and they all agree that the sound quality is good. I've also recorded with it and listened. The sound is clear and clean.Overall, five stars for quality.

Great USB mic for a decent price.
This is a great USB mic if you don’t have a lot of experience with audio, or if you’re just looking for something simple that doesn’t require a lot of time and/or technical knowledge to setup and use. The sound quality is on par with other condenser mic’s in this price range, but the addition of RGB lighting definitely makes this one stand out. Especially if you plan to have the mic visible on screen while streaming or recording. The build quality is very nice, and the fact that it comes with its own pop filter and shock mount really adds great value for this price.Pros:- Sound quality- Simple RGB lighting- Simple “plug & play” setup- Simple touch mute button on top- Included pop filter and shock mount- On-mic volume controls- Light enough to suit any boom- Great price pointCons:- Can be a little on the sensitive side- Occasionally adds a slight digital sound to your voice

Easy plug and play
I was interested in this mic primarily to do voice overs for screen grab videos. I tried it both on Mac and Windows but I tested the voice over capabilities only my my Mac.The mic arrives in a well packaged box. The instructions were minimal but given that this is plug and play, there isn't much need for instructions since the mic is assembled and ready to use. Plug the provided USB cable to mic and the computer and the mic was quickly recognized. Of course you need to adjust the settings in your audio configuration panel. The only item in the box I could not quickly figure out was an adapter (see picture). It stumped me a while but I finally realized it was an adapter to attach the mic to a boom or other stand instead of the provide desktop stand. There is a soft touch mute button on the top of the mic. The multi-colored LED lights are not necessary in my opinion. A simple one color LED would suffice to indicate mic on/off. The mic is somewhat sensitive to background noise. For example, I had a Dyson fan on a low setting about 8 feet behind me and the fan noise was still picked up despite my best effort to reduce the gain to eliminate it.I did several successful voice over recordings and was happy with the result. I would recommend this mic for casual use. I'm not sure it's the best option for professional podcast, webcast or high quality recording needs. For my use case, the mic performed good enough.
