Awesome
As a Mac Pro (early 2009 model) with an ATI HD5770 card, I was keen to use all three sockets on the back (two mini-Displayport and one DVI). It turns out that in order to do so you need a pair of *Active* mini-Displayport adaptors before you can use the DVI socket as the third display. The standard (cheap-ish) Apple adaptors are passive, not active, so these won't work. The Accell adaptors are Active (in other words they draw power), so using a pair of these meant I could use the DVI output to connect a third display.Works like a charm for almost half what the Apple equivalent would have cost.

Worked on my Radeon Eyefinity setup
Worked connecting 4 monitors to my Radeon Eyefinity setup... (HIS HD 6950 IceQ card)I tried the passive adaptors and they dont work.. I then got the Apple adaptors and they didnt work either.. Got these - worked a treat.. I've got one accell DVI and one Accell VGA adaptor..Sometimes has a problem detecting the VGA but I think thats because I've got it on a 5m VGA lead.. but if I switch off and on again it works fine again... So I'm guessing its interference.. Shorter cable and it never had a problem..

Do what they say on the tin
Did the job nicely - have an ATI Radeon 2460 graphics card to run the 4 screens we use at work. Upgraded to Windows 10 and the previous adapters did not work. After searching online it appeared I now needed active adapters. These did exactly what they needed to do - make the screens work again. Immediately

Did exactly what it claimed to do
I bought an AMD graphics card expecting to run my three screens off it only to find that one needed to be an active mini display port, something I had not come across before. Found the Accell product on Amazon plugged it between my screen and graphics card and bingo problem solved.

Are these really active or just faulty?
Ordered one of these (Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini Display Port to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified - Black)for my Gigabyte AMD6950 2gb card as wishing to get the third monitor output. These looked okay for reliability from the reviews on here.On fit it did diddly squat - I had taken care to connect up with power off at both ends, it didn't even show the bios boot up, which instantly rang alarm bells, so I tried it with different monitor - the same result, tried it in the second display port - same results. On CCC did not see a third monitor neither did Windows.I tried the Accell firmware utility - this could not detect the adaptor in either port - I returned it to Amazon who promptly sent out another new adaptor (Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini Display Port to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified - Black)The result was exactly the same :-(I began to doubt my gfx card as I had never seen the DP working so before returning the replacement I ordered a (StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable - Video/Audio Cable - Mini-DisplayPort (M) - 20 pin DisplayPort (M) - 1.8 m - Latched) and tested my computer with a friends Display Port monitor - it worked straight away on either display port. (A relief that my card works)I will be returning this replacement adaptor - maybe I will be third time lucky??The question has to be asked are the (Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini Display Port to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified - Black) actually faulty or are they incorrectly labelled at the factory?Digging further on Amazon.com (not.co.uk) these adaptors do appear to ship dead or die soon after a few days or weeks! and digging on the various forums they commonly cause issues. Not sure now what alternative to try next
