X670E - great spec, great value, and looks really clean (with RGB disabled)
This is a wonderfully featured X670E motherboard for the money and has proven to be efficient, fast, and reliable - I have no problems running a PCIE 5 NVME drive and PCIE 4 graphics card from a AMD 9000 seriues CPU. The AIO is great if you don't care about USB 4 or 5gbit LAN speeds, and it has a much higher spec than more expensive B850 and X870 motherboards, which are generally overpriced and blend PCIE lanes because they carry only one chip. When the repugnant 'Prime 01' RBG is turned off it looks great too, and this board would be equally at home in a clean white or black and silver build.Boot times are not fast, and EXPO is hard to align if 4 sticks of RAM are used (I’m not now sticking with 2). These are common themes on the AM5 platform.

Depending what processor you decide you may need a bios flag before it will run) don’t worry)
As the title says so…..Bought a lot of bits one of these boards and a 9800x3d . Not knowing pre November this processor isn’t on the boards radar . Oops.So built the computer bits together all in a nice Antec case of stoopid size . Eventually got around to hitting the on button to see my fans all rgb up and that’s it , no post or bios on site 5 hard resets later and I put out the call .“Houston , We have a problem!” So you check all online go over your work wonder if the graphics you purchased is working etc etc .So here what you do go to ASU’s website downlaod the latest bios onto a flash drive formatted to fat32 use the renamer tool it down loads with . Insert flash drive to the bios usb socket that is marked . Turn on pc while holding flash button when lights start blinking on button ( green led )take dinger off , Give it somewhere like 8 minutes or 30 second’s minimum after it stops flashing. All of this is done with NO Monitor. ( I have a usb stick that when it’s reading it flashes so I can see data travel) so to be sure don’t pull out the stick unless it’s done give it a minute and you will be fine but as I say the whole process is about 8 mins long.Hard reset it and hit the bios key which will take a minute first time it boots all the config up . As a guide all of my fans sped up and totally died down before my bios showed up about a minute . Now it’s all up windows in from boot 9 seconds so just don’t rush it .To make sure your board is working pre flash remove the top left power cable on the board with the power off . Then power on,this should put your cpu has no power led (red) on after 10 seconds . If that’s the case and before disconnection the fans started then the board is working. So I hope this helps all the people with this old bios mobo until they install it factory side gl with it Cheers Garry.Just as a thought this mobo requires windows 11 to run correctly for the modem and Bluetooth if you don’t want windows 11 do not buy the board your wasting money . I have installed every windows 10 driver there is that “ will/ should make it work “ it doesn’t sooooo. If you don’t want 11 don’t buy remember though windows 10 support ceases October 25 so run the gauntlet or go win 11. Cheers Garry.

Don't buy from here
Great mobo, but don't buy from here. Received a used one with missing bags of screws that didn't work once i built (no wonder it was previously returned). Bought a new one from Asus directly for slightly more and it works fine.

Update the bios and download Armoury Crate.
I got this board because I wanted the 6 sata ports.Only X670 and X670-E have the extra PCIe lanes for this.3x SATA for DVD-ROM and 3.5 + 2.5 HDD hot swappable ports, and 2x SATA for some extra storage (3TB HDDs) with an extra spare.Armoury Crate is naff, but you need it to begin with, otherwise you're gonna get really confused as to why you can't get the WiFi to work.So make sure to use Armoury Crate to update all your drivers then:UPDATE YOUR BIOS!The bios you're looking for on the Asus website MUST be for the "WIFI" version (there's a non-wifi version)I believe the file name should end up as "PX670PW.CAP"I did it wrong to begin with (with the non-wifi bios) but it didn't brick the motherboard thank goodness.I think it's because all the different bios' have different checksums - so it knew I was doing it wrong and wouldn't continue to prevent me breaking it.After you've successfully updated the bios, make sure to use Armoury Crate again to update/install your WiFi (and other) drivers again.UPDATE:Over a year in use now. I've added an NVMe SSD, the Kingston KC3000 (gen4 7000MBs/7000MBs read/write) I thought about getting PCIe 5.0 (gen5) but honestly what's the point right now, it's so expensive compared to gen4 and am I really going to notice the difference of anything over 7000 MB/s?(7 Gigabytes a second!! That's insane already!)I put a fresh install of Windows 11 the new SSD and it's incredibly speedy.Windows go BRRRRRRRR!!!! hahaI've had no problems with this board, I'm very much looking forward to putting in a Zen 5 or Zen 6 processor into it in the future, probably an X3D chip.EXPO worked immediately with my 6000 MT/s RAM.WiFi has been perfect, Bluetooth also fantastic (several BT devices at the same time and no issues)Will update again in 2025 when I put a new chip (CPU) in it!

decent motherboard
I like the ASUS Prime X670E-Pro WiFi a lot, and I believe it’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for a feature-filled AM5 motherboard. It offers tons of performance, it’s beautiful and very well built, and there’s PCI Express 5.0 support everywhere you look
