The training seems to be going well until Semira's second-in-command and lover Varga (Bradley James) poisons Selene and kills all the Death Dealers.Semira begins draining Selene of her blood but she gets rescued by David and Thomas. David and Selene escape as Thomas fights off Semira and what a shock she kills Thomas. Selene and David seek refuge at the Nordic Coven and when they arrive, its elder, Vidar (Peter Andersson) explains that David was the son of a High Elder .I enjoyed this film and would highly recommend watching it

I watched the original Underworld film many years ago but was intrigued as Selene played by Kate Beckinsale seemed somewhat aloof and mysterious, as if a lot has happened to her in the subsequent movies. It is possible to watch and enjoy this movie as a stand alone movie as they give you a precise at the beginning of the film. I have not seen the previous Underworld films but was intrigued by the cast including Charles Dance, Lara Pulver, Bradley James, Daisy Head and Tobias Menzies and how their characters performed. The visuals were very imaginative, excellent costumes, effects and makeup which assist the actors. I liked that there was not just the conflict between vampires and lycans. There was infighting within the vampires and the lycans while at the same time emotional connections between lycans and vampires, also hybrids and you can sympathise why Selene keeps to herself. Tobias Menzies was brilliant and well cast as Marius the new lycan leader who has his own agenda and would like to have seen more of him and his character's back story and interaction with the other characters.

It is OK but not as good as first movies.

Pure escapism and adventure. If your in to this genre, it’s one for you.

Want to know how the vamipires and lycans managed to survive and thrive following the purges by humans in Underworld: Awakening? Keep wondering because you won't find any answers here. In fact, the events of Awakening are almost completely ignored. That's not necessarily a bad thing to anyone who had to suffer through the last film.Kate Beckinsale is a delight to watch, as always in this franchise. And, it's good that there is closure for the fans. We know where Michael and Eve are by the end. And, we have a good idea of what the future holds for Selene. Given the downward quality trend it's probably understandable why Kate Beckinsale is refusing to pull the rubber trousers back on. If you're pretty new to the series, don't bother with this one. Just watch the first three and you'll get everything you need to know. If you are a mega Underworld fan, then watch this one for completion. Then forget it, if you can.I hope ScreenGem can allow this franchise to rest for a decade, or so. Then bring it back as a TV show, perhaps further into the future to see how the Selene character is getting on - even if she's recast.

Great film..

Great update to the franchise. Out of the all the films including the prequel this is by far my most favourite on the contrary. Has the modern cinematic quality with exciting action scenes that deliver a sufficient emotional narrative. Liked that it focused solely on Selene and her redemption. Just be sure to take off the critic's fedora before you watch and take the film at face value. Sophistication is minimal as a precaution but the film delivers on what is set to do: kick Lycan arse Kate Beckinsale style. Did I mention she gets a new coat that is not black?

This is worth watching. I like how they end this movie. I definitely am expecting more, and I hope this isn't the last of the Underworld movies.

J’ai adoré tous films , mais j’aime particulièrement celui-ci très bon.
