A good buy-in my opinon
Just set these up - (i psched one for dogs, one for cats as my pets like their own 'safe zones').2 motors provided for each unit... one for UK n 'a n other' for outside UK use, if u have an adapter then u get to keep one motor as a spare :))Easy to follow instructions.Easy to take apart/put back together again.Simple construction aids ease of use.I easily changed over pump motor to UK one.Rinsed filter as instructed before use(to save any bits of black carbon laying in the bottom of the fountain).Put filter in position (with white side facing waterbowl, black side facing motor unit).Replaced lid and filled with water.Took a little moving about on the floor to get the best position to save any vibrating noises... and then all fine...Pets had no problem accepting items.Noise occurs if the fountain is not filled up to limit-including animals depleating water levels by drinking from fountain-so top up is required to combat any vibrating noise which might occur. Once this is sorted out... AND make sure the motor is suctioned to the base properly with its small suction pads(pads already in place)... there is v little noise.Early days but at this price(i noticed the price of the replacement filters has gone up from £2.99 per pack to £15.99 or thereabouts ... eeeeek! on Amazon.. but there are other outlets which offer these filters at the reasonable under £5.00 for 3 methinks) im happy with my purchase.I think additional motors can also be purchased on the alternative site where I found the filters at the more reasonable price. Amazon gave me the best price, at this time, on the units-happy to buy 2 units as other makes were more than the price of these two put togetherInstructions for cleaning/periodical change of filter are very clear.conclusion:=quiet device when set up properly and maintained with correct water level=take away other source of water and pets happy to use... health benefits outweigh any change in routine to pets :))will update if i find subsequent use impairs quality.

Cats give their paw of approval!
The media could not be loaded. EDIT: I have now deducted two stars (origianlly a five star review), due to faulty product. The one in the video zonked out after 6 months. Amazon sent replacement. Replacement was not as quiet as original (quite loud, to be honest). Then the replacement broke within a month!I have now ordered a small pump from China, to use in it, as the drinking fountain was really popular with the cats and dogs.Origial review below:------------------------------------Well... approved by two of the kitties anyway. :) And out of the feline gang, they were the two we got the fountain for (the two of them used to be obsessed with drinking of the sink). It's much bigger than anticipated (never took any notice of the size), but also looks smarter in real life than what it did on the product desciption.Seriously easy to get up and running - make sure the pump is placed in the correct location, place the white lid on top. Fill with water, then plug it in. Done! If no water is coming up on the top, remove the lid, and make sure the pump is hitting the lid where it's supposed to.The two cats that use it, both drink from the flowing water, and from the bottom pool. Both dogs also love it, and will happily drink from either the pool, or from the top.Nice and quiet too, just a relaxing sound of the water (normally I remove sound from videos, but left it here, so you can listen). As it goes empty, you will hear the pump, when it gets exposed, and no longer covered by water, but it's just to top it up.The fountain itself doesn't make any mess either - no water splashing anywhere as it's running, or the cats drinking from it... when it comes to the dogs however, that's a whole other story... as per usual they'll slurp like crazy, toungues flicking water, their whole faces getting covered, and water dripping all over the place. However, cannot blame that on the fountain, the dogs does exactly the same with their regular drinking bowls too. :)

Never thought I'd see the day when my cat would drink from a bowl again!
I'm not sure how many people share my initial problem of a cat that only drank water from a running tap (my cat would follow me into the bathroom every time and wait at the sink for a drink). I was at my wits end and decided to invest in a pet water fountain, this one seemed like a simple reasonably priced option.I received the bowl and had set up and filled in minutes (super easy assembly, even a simpleton like me could do it). I turned it on after looking at it for a few seconds my cat decided it was safe to drink from. The motor isn't particularly loud as I've read in other reviews (so long as the water covers the pump). The first 2 days I only turned on the actual pump a couple of times and she drank from it, I wasn't sure if I should leave it running when she wasn't actually interested in having a drink (usually after she'd had her fill). On the 3rd day she began to drink from the bowl even when the pump wasn't running. She still refuses to drink from other bowls, but from 3rd day of having it onwards I haven't actually had to turn on the pump. I just use it like a normal water bowl now.I can't recommend this item enough. If you are having the same problem with your cat this may be the item for you, I know it worked for me.
