Mine was of excellent quality. Whilst I am pleased that it has a stainless steel head and very smooth hardwood handle, I can well understand that the handle is probably too short in length for those who are taller than me (5 feet 10 inches). Having said that, I personally have no problem in using it with comfort and am pleased to have it, especially at an apparently reduced price.

Handle is heavy duty but smooth and comfortable. Metal is reasonably thick and tough, but they have made it quite blunt so it isn't great for chopping roots, cutting down/up plants at the end of the season. It took me quite a while as it was a very obtuse angle, but I managed to get a decent 45* edge on it and it's holding well as I clear land with it.

Bought to replace a well-loved, well-worn, family heirloom, which despite good care and attention, wax polish and welding, finally gave up the ghost after long years of service. Replacing it with a how of equal quality was never going to be easy, but I have to say I am delighted by this excellent gardening product. Sturdy, lightweight, carefully machined, assembled and polished, and offered at a competitive price, the new hoe is a pleasure to use. I look forward to many years of use.
