Q: I just bought this. when i plug in , little display shows 599. whither i press temp or timer, 599 simply goes down by 10 increments. is it broken ?

I don't know if yours is broken or not. When I plug mine in it says 459. Then when I press it it goes up and stops at 999. I really don't understand the numbers, but I always turn it all the way up to 999, and let the sauna heat up.

Q: would it be possible to lay it down and use laying down?

No. Not big enough for that . Unless you curl up in a ball inside there. But then you’ll be burnt by the steam device.

Q: Have you set it at the highest temperature and did it reach it?

I never tested the actual temp but always use it on the highest setting. I'm very pleased with the results! This thing exceeded my expectations.

Q: Does it get hot inside the sauna? my steamer is steaming, the white box is hot, and the tubes are hot as well. cold in sauna. what is wrong?

It gets pretty steamy in the sauna, check to make sure the hoses are not clogged or bent.
