A Pleasure
Y'know how many tools are a touch disappointing?Y'know how Stanley tools went sketchy and are now sorting that out? This thing is a firm example of the latter improvement.Criticisms of the paper mounts are ridiculous: They're strong and simple. Most sanding pads are a PITA. Not this one. Faster & easier for overhead work than an expensive Bosch cordless, clouds of dust when using (a great sign material is being removed), and the right size to use up those broken belt sander belts (And we all have a mound of broken belts... obviously).Just not rubbish. Strong. Comfortable. Simple. Efficient.Nice one, Stanley.

Superior Product
I have been using the very expensive marshalltown sander like this for many years. The loading mechanism on this is far superior allowing paper to fit even if it's not exactly the right size and is very quick to use. No screws to tighten. Just a quick powerful clamp with teeth and a lip. Very very good.

Sander is comfy to use yet the plate may not be fully flat
Bought this for sanding walls in preparation for painting. It has a good size and although it suggests some Stanley sandpaper sheets, I just bought a roll and cut it to size, a bit more work but worth it.One big disadvantage which could have been QC issue, is that the plate was not flat entirely, it was making contact only at the top and bottom so I had to add a bit of cardboard between the pad and the sanding paper.DIY in 2024 = fix it, even if it is a brand-new product.Overall, it is a good product and holds sand paper pads tightly, is comfortable to hold and has a good coverage area. Shame about the slightly curved plate though.

That sandy then!
Brilliant tool. Have recently decorated using this tool and can confirm it is a good qualityStanley product. I used stearated aluminium oxide paper ( on a roll ) to minimize changingIt and worked a treat. The paper is held on by spring loaded clamps which are very efficient. I cut several lengths to the correctSize to save time whilst sanding. This tool is a must have for sanding walls in preparation for papering or painting. I don't recommend this for doorArchitrave or frames though as it is too wide but is perfect for larger flat surfaces.A good addition to any decorators toolbox.

Wrong size and room for improvement…
The bad: Per other reviewers the product is not the size stated on the packaging, instead being 230mm x 80mm. This means the standard rolls of 115mm sandpaper will have to be folded or trimmed. In addition I haven’t worked out whether this is genius or the complete opposite but the base isn’t flat, so most of your sandpaper won’t touch if you’re working on a flat wall or surface. On the plus, it has a nice handle and it grips the sandpaper well.
