This product does what it says on the tin, quality protection at a good price. time will tell how well they wear.

Got fed up off getting burnt with other mats and things for taking stuff out of the oven.Saw this product and though... great this has got to solve the problem.So picked a flat baking tray from an over at 200 °C and halfway between oven and tray holder I had to drop the baking tray for the burning heat to the fingers. And that is with 200°c imagine with anything hotter than that.Product is totally useless don't buy it.Great waste of money.

I bought this to replace an old pair from another supplier which has served me well but getting rather frayed. I have gas oven and typically cook on mark 6 which is around 200C ( 400F ) . I can barely get dishes or baking trays to the worksurface before fingers burn. The "500 degrees" claim without specifying units is misleading - I assumed it was degrees F. 500F is about 260C which makes it look far less heat resistant ( which it is). Be warned.
