My son was thrilled to receive these at Christmas and is very pleased with the quality.

I bought these for my 14yo son to go along with a set of black & gold gloves. Quality: Average but I was disappointed to find they were covered in bits of dust/dirt/threads ask over them in the sealed bag, and there were some threads pulled from the center of the back so they were actually damaged. I have burned the ends to hopefully prevent fraying but they shouldn't be reaching me in this condition when bought new. I am not impressed. The strap at the top of the shin guard is also very thin, again, not impressive. Design: My son likes the colour combination and this is the only reason I'm keeping them! Sizing: At the time of purchase it seems several sizes were out of stock & there was really no helpful information regarding sizing. I looked up the Venum sizing online and found it equally unhelpful and frustrating and the size chart I eventually located only covered size medium and up. Ultimately I went with the small anyway as medium was unavailable. They do fit but only just cover his full shin from knee to ankle, had I been trying them in the store I'd have certainly looked at the medium to compare. They are slightly shorter than I anticipated despite checking the size. My son has solid but not chunky/heavy set calves, if you do then you would be wise to size up if the length permits. Overall: Ultimately I'm not impressed with receiving the item in the condition I did, not the lack of clear information to help guide customers on sizing, but kiddo wants them to match his gloves and so I'm keeping them but as such I can only give a 3* review. UPDATE - after taking them to class I found out they are supposed to cover the foot, these are WAY too small, they might fit a7yo! On that basis they are useless & I've completely wasted money due to lack of important & highly relevant info on the listing & thus have this revised my previous 3* review down to 1*
