APEC WATERSystems WFS-1000 3 Stage Under-Sink Water Filter System + Spare Pre-Filter Set

This is a great filter system, but neither the entire unit, nor its individual filters, are certified whatsoever by any certifying body, such as NSF or WQA. We have only the manufacturer to trust that its claims for chemical, taste, and odor reduction are accurate.Would love to see that the entire system, plus its replacement filters, gets certified like its more expensive RO counterparts.

It doesn’t leak so it has that going for it. I was having high TDS readings when we first set it up & the water was cloudy looking from all the bubbles in the system & it was leaving a foamy crud on the surface of the water. So I purged it for a few extra minutes a second time & that cleared it all up. Our water quality isn’t horrible w/o a filter it’s just full of chlorine & it smells of that & I am sensitive to it so it gives me a sore throat if I drink from the tap. It removed the chlorine taste & smell & no sore throat so that’s another win. It isn’t the best tasting water I’ve ever had but it’s sufficient. This is our second APEC water filter purchase & we specifically looked for this brand to purchase again. It should last for several years with minor maintenance. So if this is your price range I would recommend it.

My husband installed it, and so far there are no leaks. Water is still milky but tastes fine. I just wish Amazon would’ve price matched itself basically since it’s the same product I purchased 5 days ago and it’s now magically $22 less. I asked it Amazon would do a price adjustment, and they refused. Also, when I tried to purchase this item before, I had a choice of brushed nickel or chrome faucet. I wanted brushed nickel but got chrome and wasn’t given a choice this time🤔😔

This is our second time installing these,and it went pretty smooth. If you want the best water quality you have to purchase the five stage osmosis system with the pressure tank. It takes up a lot more room,and your limited in your supply gallons per day.

So far, we are pleased with the APEC WFS-1000. The installation was straightforward, the faucet nice, and the flow impressive. My only complaint is the lack of transparency concerning WHAT exactly is filtered. This is the third system we have had. The other two both included with the system and in every replacement filter box a highly detailed, extensive listing of what contaminants are reduced or eliminated. They had outside testing companies that test the filters and report results, then the manufacturer shares with the consumer on a piece of paper in every box. With APEC, so far all I've heard is sediment, chlorine, VOC's, and "other chemicals". That is highly unclear. This leads me to wonder if the lack of testing, or at least to the extent of where it is shared with the consumer has something to do with the comparatively low cost of this system, even more so the replacement filters. Their 3-filter replacement set is half the cost of the last similar systm we had. Also, lead removal or reduction is not a feature of their standard filters. They do have available a separate filter that can be purchased if lead is a concern. I also found this to be strange, as lead and chlorine are usually the main targets of drinking water filtration. Other than these details, the system seems very sturdy, and with new filters, the flow is great-comparable to a regular faucet. I would feel better knowing the details as to what is being filtered out.

Install is not very difficult. The reason I gave this four stars is I did not like the "versatile feed water adapter" that comes with this. It's all in pieces that you have to screw together that allows 5 different connections where water could leak. I had a slow leak after install and could not find where it was coming from. Went to Home Depot and got a 3/8" X 3/8" compression valve that had a built in shut off valve with a 1/4' push to connect for the hose. Works great now.

Mine leaked out the first stage, regardless of how many times I tried to reinsert the filter and try over. Ultimately had to use silicone sealant around the o-ring to get it to stop dripping.Unit also makes a hissing sound when water runs through it, and water has a fine mist of air bubbles making it appear cloudy, even though I've run at least 50 gallons through it already. It's harmless, but just odd.

Says in the description that it filers out heavy metals. When tested with my TDS reader, the reading was as high as the plain tap water. Filtering out dissolved solids was very important for me. Contacted the manufacturer and was told it only filtered chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride. Ended up returning it.

Despues de 10 años de estar tomando agua de garrafon, que ademas de ser pesados, siempre queda la duda de que tan frecuentemente cambian los filtros las embotelladoras de agua, nos animamos a cambiar a este filtro. Llevamos un mes con agua sin sabor, ni olor, nadie noto la diferencia.Lo mejor es que te quitas de lo aparatoso del garrafon, lo pesado y siempre tienes agua filtrada a la mano.

I am happy with the product:It was fairly easy to install, the water pressure was above my expectations. The life cycle is seems to be longer (the way it is advertised). The waterquality seems to be very good.My only concern is it is advertised to utilize a 3-stage filtration process. It is NOT entirely correct. The filter number one is marked "Stage 1", however both filter number 2 and filter number "3" are marked "Stage 2/3". The true 3-stage process filter consist of 3 filters that will gradually filter out bigger, smaller and finally finest impurities in a water. So this filter system is 2 1/2 Stage, if you will.

Este producto no purifica el agua. Lo vuelvo a repetir, la función de este producto no es purificar el agua. Si tu fuente de agua no esta purificada, de nada te va a servir este producto. Por lo demás cumple adecuadamente su función de filtración. Aunque si implica mucho trabajo para la instalación. Mucha gente preferirá contratar a un especialista. Recomiendo empezar con un modelo mas barato.

Después de casi 2 meses de uso, puedo decir que estoy 100% satisfecho. El producto es premium, cumple con lo requerido. El agua es completamente insabora e incolora, no podría diferenciar entre la de garrafón. Hice la prueba probando directo de la llave y del filtro y es impresionante la diferencia. Recomiendo este filtro que a pesar de ser un poco más costoso que similares, se nota la calidad. Fácil instalación, tiene todo lo requerido (incluso trae una cinta teflón). Solamente es necesario contar con broca de 1/4 de alta velocidad para hacer el orificio en la tarja de aluminio y listo.
