A boy's best friend is his mother
This review is for the Arrow Video Blu-ray release of Psycho II.I'll get to the actual offering from Arrow in a moment but first I'll say some words on the actual movie without spoiling it for others.I'm not a fan of sequels, movies that cash in on the popularity of the original and have roman numerals affixed to their titles, but for this movie I'll make an exception, it's actually rather good, it's a whatever happened to that young man, showing us the follow up 22 years later so hardly a hastily cash in,and just when you think you've sussed it, there's a twist. This Arrow Video Blu-ray release is on top form as with their usual releases, there's the alternative cover artwork, and the picture quality is very nice, there's a audio commentary by writer Tom Holland and among the other treats a interview with actor Anthony Perkins that's taken from a VHS recording keeping with the retro 1983 feel, showing you VHS wasn't as bad quality as people of today's generation make it out to be.Package arrived safe and sound from Amazon prime. I recommend you check this movie out.

Superb Bluray Presentation
Absolutely superb Bluray presentation of Psycho II. It is filled with extras and commentaries that really enlighten the viewer on this unique film and how it recaptured 22 years later the feeling of Hitchcock's original shocker from 1960. A surprise hit for a film that was supposed to be just a TV film. this is anything but. There's a great booklet that comes with it (I think this is 1st printing only, but I got one), which is very enlightening too. This a seriously good bluray for the serious collector. Superb!

He's out.
Norman Bates is out of the asylum after 22 years supposedly cured and back running his motel after a brief job in a diner. But he's still haunted by visions of his dead mother. The sequel to Alfred Hitchcock's horror classic Psycho, this is a pleasant surprise. Nowhere near as good as the original and director Richard Franklin is no Hitchcock, but this is an effective, fun and enjoyable horror movie. Anthony Perkins returns as Bates along with Vera Miles also reprising her role from the original movie and are joined by Meg Tilly, Dennis Franz years before NYPD Blue and Robert Loggia. A couple of decent twists too and the film does a good job of trying to get you to feel sympathy for Norman Bates.

Not Hitchcock Not Saw but worth a watch !
Even if it's not Hitchcock this is one of those few sequels that is worth a watch. Anthony Perkins reprises his role as Norman Bates superbly balancing the edge between the sane and the insane and is supported by a strong caste including Vera Miles from the original. Of course the slasher genre had changed from the time of the original so the ' shocks' are more elaborate although not to the likes of the Saw franchise.
