Palo santo (Bursera graveolens) comes from the same botanical family (Burseraceae) as frankincense, although it is found in South America rather than the Middle East. Palo Santo Oil or "Holy Wood" is a very spiritual essential oil. Like frankincense, palo santo is known as a spiritual important incense and is therefore called holy wood. Used by shamans and in former time by the Incas to purify and cleanse the spirit from negative energies. Unlike other wood species the Palo Santo has needs to fall of naturally ie. in the form of a branch from the tree and lying on the ground for some time in order to be processed to get an incense stick or chips or cone. Therefore, no living tree is felled for this product , otherwise the healing and special properties would be lost . Furthermore we are not only import apostate wood, we decided to support a supplier who goes even further: He is actively engaged on the renaturation of trees by planting them with local people to leave the next generations this great tree. He gives 25 local residents sustainable and fair income as artisans in harmony with nature. It remains in our opinion a visionary project, but it is important for all of us: That we value the natural given goods and be carefull with our environment - live in harmony with nature and our only home, the Earth, take care. By purchasing our Palo Santo products our supplier grants to invest further in the Forest: A part of the sales goes directly into the reforestation project in Puerto Lopez, Ecuador. They already planted 40,000 trees since the construction of a greenhouse over 6 years ago and the vision is going to be lived for the future.

Effective and genuine Palo Santo
This is a delicious oil which I bought for several reasons. I loved the authenticity of the suppliers. I love the aroma of the oil. I am working with Felicity Warner"s book, Sacred Oils and I definitely needed some "spiritual disinfectant", as she calls it! I found it had a profound releasing and lightening effect on me, my husband and our house; many issues which were lurking in the shadows came out into the open to be balanced and healed. I am very pleased. It does run rather freely unlike some oils so I urge caution here because it is pungent and strong. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Smells great ignore the bad reviews
I'd just like to add that when I first opened the bottle I was reminded of the handful of negative reviews I'd seen here saying it smelled like turps or furniture polish, but I'm qfroqd that clearly none of those people had given this a chance, because once that initial note has gone after about a minute, it smells absolutely delicious.It does come out fast though! Be careful out there!!!

DOES NOT SMELL LIKE PALO SANTO BUT
I am editing my first review as I came to realise I probably used too much product the first time and that's probably why I was perceiving such a strong peppermint/rubber smell. When used carefully you can actually also smell a light wooden fragrance and it is quite pleasant, although I would still say that it does not smell like I was expecting (pure Palo Santo).

Weak and Smells Like Cheap Furniture Polish
I thought I'd try a different oil and chose Palo Santo. Now that I have I wished I hand't. I don't see (smell) how this oil can be classed as a sacred, spiritual oil. It is weak and smells awful, like cheap furniture polish or old turpentine with the brushes left in it. Unfortunately, that's £8.99 wasted.

Great product but faulty dropper
Great product. Great smel, clean and deep. And the amount is great value. Other venders selling for a lot more and you get a lot less.Only down side is the dropper, the hole it comes out of is far to big and so it pours! Doesn't drop. I lost about 5ml on the first opening :(

Holy-wood.. the mystical tree..
Palo Santo... with a scent which resonates at the frequency best known to induce spontaneous enlightenment...I am on a natural healing journey. I use the smallest amount of this product on my cloths to give a nice aroma wherever I go, & to gently awaken the sleeping. (Used as an alternative to harmful cologne).This is a great product, I will definitely purchase again in the future..

Superior Quality - Highly Recommend
Palo Santo has a wonderful exotic smell, it evokes feelings of cleansing, purity and well being. And I am an engineer, not a smells and crystals person. Love this stuff. I have an ultrasonic diffuser, works extremely well, I prefer however the candle powered water/oil diffuser - somehow warming the oil first makes it smell better. Very high quality - I would not buy anywhere else.

Really smells just like the actual smouldering wood
I don’t know what to say about this particular essential oil other than that I’m so pleased with the scent, which is just like burning the real thing, and is not as pricey as some. I’ll definitely buy it again when this is finished.
