Pretty good
Well built although not the smallest. Insane amounts of torque, but the lowest torque setting is a bit high for putting small screws into pine etc. Overall I can''t see me buying another drill for quite some years!

Awesome piece of kit
Having decided to build my own decking and having never owned a decent drill (my current drill at the time being no exception - think I paid £25 for it on a B&Q offer!) and with my brother saying that hitachi were more than matching DeWalt etc I bought this drill.First the negatives not that there's many.1) the quality and the 5amp battery means the drill is quite heavy2) the box is bulky - a smaller carrying case would be a useful second purchase or as a free gift as the charger is bulky and the batteries are large. The good points1) the drill is very well built. The difference to the rubbish Id been using is staggering.2) Torque! I'd swear here but my review won't get published. Nothing stops this thing. On the wrong setting the drill would have pushed a decking screw straight through the decking without slowing down! You notice the 90nm of torque the 5amp battery gives you here.3) the battery life - I screwed down 50 decking planks with 12 screws in each - after having built the 6x4.8m decking supports on one battery on its original charge. 4 weeks later I pick up the spare battery charged at the same time as the first and the charge is still there.Buy this drill you won't regret it.

Good But Not Great
Nice tool, seems well made and sturdy and am sure it will last a long time. Quite heavy though on the downside.A little disappointed with the power though. I have a 55 torque Hitachi (compared to the 92 of this one) already and the power difference drilling pilots and driving wide long screws is indiscernable I find.Overall, was hoping for something with more beef about it, Hitachi are good tho!

Bags of torque
I didn't need another cordless drill as already have a Makita and Festool but bought this as a cheaper option (as it comes with 2 batteries and a charger) than buying batteries and charger separately to go with a bare Hitachi sds drill. I'm so glad I bought it though as it has bags more torque than my other drills and has come in handy for driving larger screws in flush where my other drills failed. It comes with a great carry case as well. It's not brushless though but I don't see that as a problem.

Good but not perfect
Product arrived quickly but adjusting ring on front of tool was stiff to operate and jammed twice seems to have freed up a little and light does not work on front of tool otherwise a powerful tool

fantastic drill solid and yet very light
was looking forward to my new hitachi drill and i wasn't dissapointed , fantastic drill solid and yet very light , powerful and compact , gentle speed control and a really good tight chuck that holds really small drill bits , an excellent companion to my hitachi impact driver.

SHAME
hello, just had smoke billowing from this unit after about 1 year of off and on use. so its cream crackered. another problem was the brilliant looking Jacobs chuck which decided not to unlock a bit one day, ended up trying to knock back the jaws with a hammer with some success but then found one jaw was recessed in the chuck, so was difficult to hold smaller bits. the reason for the lockage was the centre retaining .machine screw had come loose inside, so if you've got one of these, check it out On the plus side the batteries are brilliant and last forever. must have got a bad one!
