Doff350g Organic Super Slug Killer

In spite of this products claim to be harmless to anything else apart from slugs and snails, I have a gut feeling that it's not true. I hate the thought of wildlife dying out as a result of pesticide pullution but many years of trying natural remedies and having most of my garden veggies plagued by slugs wore me down to desperate measures like this. I would advise if you absolutely need to use this, do so very sparingly

I'm an animal lover (and prefer to grow organic vegetables) so, to date, have just picked off the slugs at night and disposed of them. Unfortunately they can breed faster than I can collect them so I decided to give this organic slug killer a try. The pellets looked like little plastic beads for the first couple of days and I still found snail trails on my cabbage and broccoli leaves and the occasional baby slug still there enjoying his lunch then the rain fell heavily and the beads changed colour. By now I was finding fewer slugs and snails. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have pointed out, the pellets then turn mouldy so I'm left with ugly white furry patches all round my vibrant green veg. It's a particularly warm September as I write this so the cabbage butterflies have just laid their third set of eggs this summer on my brassicas and I'm busy scraping these off and also guiltily killing the baby caterpillars which have emerged. I can well understand why people resort to harsh chemicals to keep all these pests at bay! I'm determined to live a natural life, though, so will persevere with this slug killer - with Darwinism on my side I should be able to outwit them sufficiently to keep myself in vegetables all winter.

I bought this as we have 2 cats, one of which is a bit 'special' and we were concerned she might try eating regular slug pellets that would likely see her end of days.They definitely don't do the job as good as regular pellets but considering the compromise they do work well.Obviously they are a little more expensive than regular pellets and you get a lot less than you would for the same value as regular but like I say, to stop my cat from killing itself they are worth it.I'd recommend for anyone who has cats.

Bought one seemed to make a different and so bought a second to finish off. Goes quickly but seemed to do the trick?Bought to help get rid of moles which was a tip. Get rid of slugs and stuff and moles run out of food. Seems to have helped.

Initially there was a mix up with time and day of delivery,however I did eventually receive the order and it did what it said and got rid of slugs.

Our cat eats her food outside so we wanted something safe for pets and she doesn't go near it. We had a terrible problem with slugs, probably not helped by the cat food, but this really sorted the problem. Our problem is on the patio but it rained shortly after putting the pellets down so they were less effective. Second time I put it around the edge of the patio on the small stones and it worked a treat and is far less obvious. You do have to keep replenishing it (about once a week) though as the slugs just keep coming back.... Definitely recommend this

It works on slugs as described but washes away by rain quickly, and one bottles does not get you very far. I used on a narrow long flower bed (maybe 4 sq m in total), and it only lasts maybe 2 weeks with a weekly rain, and then you see slugs all over your plants again (and more than before it seemed).

A bit pricey I thought, but after an endless battle with slugs I took the plunge and purchased.I didn't have great expectations, but was proved wrong. It works. Pellets last quite a long time even in rain, so you use less. I have not seen a slug for two weeks!Great that I know, frogs, hedgehogs etc will not be harmed.However, I have noticed that woodlice and worms eat the pellets too?! Wonder what it does to them? :(Now that the pellets have been on the ground for sometime, I have also notice the pellets turning mouldy, growing mould hairs. Looks rather unsightly, but guessing this is now the pellets starting to break down. I don't think I will reapply pellets unless the slugs come back!Overall, I'd definitely recommend. It works, my plants and I are happy!
