this is the best contemporary angthology i've read
this is the best contemporary angthology i've read. i studied this book for one of my undergrad classes, but i enjoyed it so much that i've continued to re-read from time to time. 2of my favorite poems from the collection are "the art of drinking tea" by nin andrews and "what it feels like to be aaron smith" by aaron smith. as with any anthology, there's bound to be a few that you're not going to like. gotten sift through the dirt to find the diamonds- but i found that this collection had more poems that i liked than anything else. of the BAP anthologies, i think this is the best one that i've seen

Great sweep of poetry
This is my first purchase of the series, which I now understand to be the selection of a celebrated poet as editor. There is a compelling history of earlier volumes in the 2013 Foreword. I very much enjoy David Lehman's choices, which is introducing me to poets I hadn't read. I bought it in Kindle format, making it very easy to search for other works by poets as I discover them in this volume.

Gratifying
Even the most devoted reader of poetry can't read everything that makes it into print. This collection helps us go where we might otherwise not have known to go for the joy of poetry.

Breaking news: poetry is alive and well...
Excellent selection this year. I'm on my third time of reading and am blown away by the incredibly high standard of these poems; the position that poetry is dying and no longer relevant is made nonsense by this one volume

Loved the collection.
I love the breath and depth of the choices, many different styles and genres are represented. It was a nice surprise to see a couple of my friends' poems included.

Another Winner from BAP
Another year of extraordinary poems arrive in the 2013 collection. Part of the fun of each year is not only seeing which poets wrote outstanding poems, but also which journals were included. The online poetry community is represented to a small but important extent. This collection is one of my favorites.
