Chipped Tile
Tried these as soon as they came in. Had some scrap tile from two recent projects. Tried to smooth and clean up the edges. All they did was chip the edge up worse. Better off buying Diamond Hand polishing pads. You would think these save time over hand polishing, but they don't. Sending these back.

Good Value
This set works great. It polished aluminum plate to a nice shine. It’s decent quality and the abrasives seem to hold up well but perhaps not as well as more expensive sets. I don’t think I’d want to use this in a professional setting but for DIY or for hobbyist it’s great!

exactly as described, capable of many reuses as long as you follow guidelines
Seller did an excellent job of describing this product and I can confirm that everything in this simple kit was exactly what I was led to expect. That said, there were no instructions or guidelines, not even for maintenance and care, included in the box. All that you have to go on, as an owner/operator of these diamond grinding discs, is on the Amazon web page, which actually contradicts itself about whether these are only wet or only dry grinders. From hands on use, these grinders can be used either way.If you need to minimize grinding dust, or if you need more nuanced grinding/polishing effects and the material you're working on can tolerate it, low flow, wet grinding is an option. If the material you're going to grind is reactive with fluids, or if you desire more aggressive cutting, then dry grinding is the other option. As always, lightness and heaviness of touch also matters for final results. The one thing you must abide by, if you want to be able to reuse these more than once, is to never run them above 5000RPM. I haven't taken these above 4000RPM.The diamond grit on each of these grinders is fully embedded in an high temperature toleratant, ablative resin. You actually need to run these grinders on a sacrificial, test surface to ablate the top most layer of the resin to more fully expose the cutting diamond grit. The grinding surface of resin and diamond are backed by a reasonably stiff, yet somewhat flexible, nylon backer. Nylon has limited shear strength and limited tolerance to high temperatures. So, I strongly suspect that the 5000RPM limit is because of the nylon backer, not the resin or the diamond grit.I used these grinders to take down some extremely tenacious graffiti on a cement sidewalk and on a porous, decorative, brick wall.I had tried every solvent within reason, without any success. I tried sandpaper grinders with little success. I tried various steel and brass wire brush cups, also with little success. I did not want to tear up or otherwise ruin the cement and brick just to remove the tenacious graffiti.Once I got these grinders, I started from the middle of the pack on the graffiti. That was the correct choice for the cement, but it was slightly too coarse for the porous brick. I took all the graffiti off the cement using this grinder. I switched to one finer grit up to remove all the graffiti off of the porous brick. By dry grinding and using a deft touch, I was able to avoid damaging the cement and brick, even though a thin layer of each had to be removed. Mission accomplished. After a wet wash with water, detergent and an orange oil based solvent, the used grinders look to still be in excellent condition. Not brand spanking new, but still very formidable. That is very reassuring to me. All of the other stuff that I had tried before, on the cement, was pretty much destroyed in the process. Now, if only I could use one of the course grinders to permanently erase the malicious graffiti tagger. I have him on video committing the act. At the very least, I would like to leave a few marks for him to think about. Just kidding...These grinding discs work as advertised and as I needed them to. Bravo!

Great Kit at an Affordable Price!
I like that I can attach them to my grinders or to my drills using the provided adaptor.I like that I can go all the way from removing deep scratches, pits and imperfections with the 50 grit and all of the way to a nice polish with the 2000 grit.I think that the first thing to note is that, if I'm not mistaken, you need to wear off the "adhesive" to get down to the diamond surface before the pads function as designed.I've got diamond blades for my tile saw and both the manufacture of the saw and of the blades emphasize to only use them with water. So, I've never even attempted to use them dry. I mention that because the ad copy for these polishing pads says you can use these pads dry. In one section it currently states, "Only dry."Since I was a little confused, I started using them without water, but I got better results with water. Of course, I used a little water at first to see if anything went wrong, then slowly increased the amount of water.I recommend only using them within the suggested RPM range for a reason not stated in the ad copy. Once, I didn't have the option to use a similar diamond pad at a lower speed because most of my tools were on another job site when I got a call to come out for a "quick" repair. The only -- antiquated -- tool that I had with me operated at a single speed. It disintegrated the pad. I think what happened was that the friction heated the pad too high and broke the bonds of the adhesive holding the diamonds in place. Even while continuously irrigating with water. I did get that job done, but only because I had other pads with me, and I pulsed the speed continuously turning the drill on and off. My right index finger was totally useless for several hours after that. :DI'm not a professional, but I've done several tile and stone flooring installations. I'd say somewhere between 2000-2200 hours. For the jobs that I've done, these pads are as good as the ones for which I paid significantly more. One other thing to note is that the hook and loop is high quality and keeps the pad securely attached. I've run into a lot of junky/weak hook and loop over the years.I'll go 5 stars on these and if they wear out quicker than my others, I'll come back and update this post.

They burn up quickly compared to other sets
Very short life span. fell apart after one day of use. Never ran through a 50 grit pad that fast by a long shot. Good on finish but not on prep
