give yourself a fighting chance when it comes to safety. this safety fiberglass fire blanket is designed to blanket a kitchen, grill or campfire so the fire cant breath and die out. i haven’t actually tested this blanket but plan to do it on a campfire soon. as described by the maker, the material is fiberglass; feels heavy and thick and appears to be of good quality. i am addition a fire extinguisher to this fire blanket to for elevated safety. recommended for all household.

Obviously it's going to be rare to find someone to review this who has had to use it in an emergency, so keep in mind that I'm reviewing specifically on what I can see and feel without the experience of having to rip this blanket out of the case in an emergency to throw over a fire.My biggest concern about the product I received is that the promo pictures and the instructions indicate that there should be a fabric tab on each side of the case that I should pull on if I ever need to use this blanket. However, what I received has both tabs protruding from the same exact location. I did open the Velcro to see if maybe one of the tabs was just protruding in the wrong place and could be redirected to the correct location, but if you check the picture you can see that is not possible.On one hand, I wonder if this will be fine, but on the other, I hate the worry that maybe this will cause a problem costing precious seconds in an emergency. There's certainly no instructions or manual to tell me how it would need to be repacked if it really is a problem, so I'm not going to try. I'll probably buy an additional blanket to use as a primary and have this one as a backup just so I'm not worrying about it when it is needed.

I had searched through available fire blankets for the one with the black pool tabs on opposite ends. That’s what this picture product showed. But what I received was the black tab stitched together hanging center. That position does not allow for a quick removal of the blanket. The Velcro is too strong to open all the way up. I get a small pocket opening and the blanket gets stuck. The blanket is a stiff fiberglass that will not drape. So keep that in mind when you picture throwing this over a fire. Air will still get in on all the sides unless you press it down around the fire to smother it.

As with others, I haven't actually had to use it yet (fortunately!) but I feel much better having it in my kitchen. It seems to be made of exactly what it says it is, and that is the correct material for addressing grease fires, so I'm not really worried about whether or not it will work.As another reviewer mentioned, it is quite stiff. This is to be expected with fiberglass anything but I want to make a special note of it because the photos imply that you could drape it across yourself like a blanket if needed. It really wouldn't work that way but could probably be used as something of a shield in a dire situation.Overall VERY pleased to have this and the tabs are a nice addition for quick access in an emergency. Strongly recommend hanging it up somewhere you can grab it with a second's notice because that's how long you'll have with a grease fire on your hands!

one of the only ways to stop an electrical fire caused by a battery is by smothering the flame and reducing the flow of oxygen. This is a nice large blanket measureing 1meter square. (odd for a product sold in the US market) roughly 3' Square. A good size for household usage. I would caution against using as a blanket to run out of a fire like in one of the product images. That would be a complete waste of a glass fiber blanket unless it was your only option of course.

These are great to have in handy when planning to go camping in the middle of nowhere or even just to have around the house or in your car in case of emergencies.
