I love the size of these, and I have other sets of these pencils, but the colours of this set are very weak.

We use this for highlighting, we just have to make sure we don’t push the blue too hard to be able to see underneath as it’s a stronger colour and not neon but the others are perfect.

see my comments about the other Lyra Giants - these are really good for children but not so great for older hands (arms and shoulders) as have to work quite hard to get colour. An interesting experiment when I bought them but probably will let my grandchildren use when they decide to have a go with pencils instead of fibre tips!

A bit of a let down compared to the normal Lyra Giants - they are not quite as soft and vary in softness over the range but it still worth buying these to add to the colour tins and the skintone set. Lyras are my choice for Life Drawings where I want it to be using single line or nearly so. They are not as subtle as Derwent Coloursoft pencils for complex shading but give wonderful smooth unbroken contour lines and a more modern looking result..

these pencils have the deepest and most vibrant colours i have ever used. they are a little pricey but they are more than worth the extra expense. they do not break easily and can be shaded lightly or, if you press harder, they can take on a much deeper shade.

Kids love these and they don't break every five seconds like standard thickness pencil crayons.

I love Lyra pencils and the neon colours are really good, especially the pink.
