Just what we needed. Great product. Easy to take apart and put back together with actual key blade and chip.

Everything fits bar the key swap, will have to get the blank cut for the mechanism to work. But bang on done the job

Poor quality and lack of instructions.This is a risky venture.Having disassembled my old fob, I transfered the components over. The battery and circuit board side was easy.But when I inserted my cars key blade, it won't open up after closing the blade, and the operation is stiff, even with the spring wound even tighter than it should be.The blade does not lock into the closed position, due to there being a fraction of insufficient movement for it to lock into place.The RFID chip was hard to get out of the original keyfob, and did not fit into this keyfob, so I had to file part of the carrier down.Be aware, if you break this chip, or fail to transfer it to the new fob, your car is not going to start. Only the remote locking will work.Cheap and nasty. Not worth the effort and the risk. I Wish I hadn't bought this product, as it have gained nothing.It works fine with its own blank blade, but clearly this fob is not designed properly to accept the blade from your car, the tolerances are not fine enough.I could have got the blank blade cut by a locksmith, assuming they will accept that blade and gurantee it would work..but then that's more expense and another risk, in this situation I would consider it as throwing good money after bad.

So easy to change over looks like new again

First thing is, no instructions that told me about the spring mechanism. If you have this key, you know the key flips up when you press the silver button. When replacing, you have to insert the spring, the key, and then the button, before pre-winding the key anti clockwise, and then stick the top plastic key on. This means the spring is trying to flick the key up - how the original does it. It took me ages to get it just right -the original silver button has a much better notch inside it for the spring, so suggest you use that instead of the one that comes with this unit. I used a little bit of heat on the original to get the Ford sticker off the original to then stick on this. Overall, it's a pretty good replacement - the original was really difficult to take apart (the top piece that holds the key and spring mechanism), where this version is a lot easier. I pretty much destroyed the original taking it apart (it was broken anyway), but be careful if you want to keep yours.

Very cheap and good quality.

Doesn't close with key in so you have to sand down a portion of it which kinda defeats it's purpose of buying a new one just to damage it
