Wanted to replace the cheapo strings that came with my violin.Much better and generally a warmer tone when playing.The e string is sinificantly less squeeky/whistly.

Update: After receiving a set missing one a string, Amazon resolved the issue by sending me a new set. This one included the a string.The strings sound and feel good. There are definitely an improvement to the default strings that came with the violin. Now that I was able to restring my violin, I am happy with this purchase.

Lovely sound on what strings our left, rather unfortunate

The g, d and a string sound lovely however you have to take tuning slow with these strings as they feel very tight and take a while to stretch out enough to tune. The e string snapped even after about half an hour of slow stretching so will need to replace. However the price is good and it’s good value for money for the lower strings but it might be worth investing in a more expensive e string.

After reading up on loads of strings, I decided to give these a try since I play the guitar and have always like D'Addario stings. Changing strings as I do not know what the factory strings on my violin (Stentor Student II) were and the G and D strings sound rather dull and bland.Packaging isnt too bad i suppose but it can be confusing as the D string is somewhat thinner looking that the A string. It doesnt mention which string is which colour and reading from other reviews that have got snapped strings, they might have been caught out by this.Anyway long story short, i changed the strings and tuned them up. gave them another 2 or 3 tune up before playing them. Surprisingly, the G and D strings sound very metallic and the sounds feels like the violin is made of metal rather than wood. A and E are alright.Decided to leave them over night and try again next morning. Tuned them up again and played simple tunes. Beginnning to dislike the sounds produced by the G and D string as it still sound like i am playing a steel violin (search youtube for metal or steel violin and you will know what it sounds like)These are going into the bin once I get myself a set of Dominants. Very disappointed with these.

Beginners strings @ decent price.

I was really looking forward to setting these up for one of my violin students.... problem being that the A string snapped on the first tuning. (I am a professional musician so I know how to set up new strings)

Me gustan mucho, tienen un sonido muy brillante. En mi violín la cuerda La siempre tenía un sonido muy penetrante, con estas cuerdas suena perfecto.!Toco en una orquesta de cuerdas, se nota mucho la diferencia en el sonido de mi violín.

Reliable strings that sound great (from an intermediate player)

Ho montato questa corda "Re" su un violino acustico elettrificato after market, nonostante le altre corde fossero di marca e modello Thomastik Dominant, e devo dire di non aver riscontrato nessun problema dovuto alla differenza, il timbro di questa corda è piacevolmente caldo, un suono duttile, avvolgente. Penso che alla prima occasione comprerò una muta intera di queste D'Addario Ascentè: un ottimo prodotto, consigliate.
