I have made four main course recipes so far. Each one was delicious. The directions are clear, easy to follow, and include practical tips. I love that these are family recipes, with healthy ingredients. With this book, a home cook (even this Irishman) can make meals like an Italian nonna.

I tend to buy cookbooks based on the author or chef who’s recipes have appeared elsewhere but end up being disappointed with a lack of workable recipes in a book that I’m now stuck with. Not the case here at all, the authors have included so many recipes that are both interesting and achievable. Can’t wait to include so many of these dishes in my weekly rotation to help get me out of my meal prep rut.

Although I bought this for a gluten free friend, these recipes are excellent examples of family style Italian cooking. The writers provide excellent gluten free flour, pasta, and other recommendations--a number of which my friend had not known before--but the recipes can be made with standard flours and pastas too.I recommend especially if you remember dishes made by your mother or grandmother without recipes--the authors have recreated those of their own families into easily followed instructions

If all the recipes are even half as fantastic as the first one I prepared (Linguine w/ Arugula and Pancetta) then my family is really in for a treat! I have already earmarked a dozen other recipes I want to try and I don’t even love to cook!

This cookbook is very expensive for the quality. It arrived warped and doesn’t close all the way. The pages feel like poor quality. Although I haven’t tried any recipes yet, they do sound like they will be good and I’m looking forward to trying them. I just think it’s too expensive for the quality.
