A year on: amazing boots!! For the money they are a no brainer.
Year on update!! I still love these!! They are still going strong, reasonably waterproof, and have shown no defects...maybe except one: the back of the right boot became unbearable as a lump formed. I ripped open the lining and found some cardboard material being used to keep the back ‘rigid’. I removed it all. This was six months ago and every time I lace them (and zip them) up I comment to my gf how amazing they are. I would buy another pair for sure and highly recommend them to anyone. They still look as new despite being worn daily through cross country muddy terrain. On returning home my feet are always dry. 6 stars out of 5.First review: I love these. Are they as good as my Lowa Recon? No! The soles are rubber as opposed to Vibram, and the ankle collars are not as comfy. Also, the Lowas have better lacing systems (In my opinion)...However, these do have the amazing side zips (which are incredibly robust and practical), and are a quarter of the price of my Lowa GTX recons. So, I could buy four pairs instead!! These Miltec look the business and this type of leather appears to be quite durable and smart. I was torn between 4.5 and 5 out of five, but, for the price, they have to get full marks. Worn them for a month so far and find that they fit perfectly with my normal socks and my seal skin waterproofs at the same time. Ideal

Really good boots
I’ve waited about a year since I bought these boots before writing a review (I liked to give the things I buy a bit of time to show their true colours!). I have worn these pretty much everyday, walking the dog, in all weather. I think they are very good indeed. They have zips along the inside, which makes them very easy to put on and take off. The tongue is stitched in (I have never had wet feet) and when laced up, your feet (and ankles) feel nicely warm and protected. They also have a nice tread on the soles, which gives good extra grip on icy or slippery patches. I also found them very comfortable to wear, once softened up a bit through wearing a few times.I tend to look after them by, every so often, giving them a wipe down with a damp rag, a good dose of black polish and also applying dubbin around the toe caps.A year on, they are as good as new, in terms of performance.Given you can easily pay two or three times this amount for boots (and for my sins, in the past, I have), I think these are a bit of a bargain.I even went so far as to get a second pair to use when these ones eventually wear out. I bought them now rather than waiting because, as seems the case with pretty much everything else I like, they’ll probably soon stop making them!)Recommended.

Quick and easy delivery, decent boots.
First off, these boots arrived a whole week (or thereabouts) earlier than anticipated. I don't know if this is standard, but a good job regardless. (Delivered to the Isle of Wight too, I've had some online retailers balk completely at that).Upon arriving, the box was damaged somewhat - torn dent in the front - however the contents were fine. This is more down to the courier I expect, however if you're a shoe box aficionado or collector, be warned. (And maybe get a life? ;-) )The boots? I gave them a thorough once over, and the only defect (and minor it is too) is around one of the lower eyelets on the right boot. It looks like some of the internal stuffing - a white fluffy material - has tufted out in the manufacturing process. It doesn't affect the structural integrity of the boot, and everything else looks fine. If it wasn't for that and the box's damage this would score a solid five stars.Likewise, the fit and comfort of the boot is nice. Perhaps not quite as luxurious as a top-of-the-line Magnum boot, but perfectly reasonable, and lightyears ahead of the all-leather British Army Assault Boots I wore out.Worth mentioning that the tongue is also attached to the boot like proper combat boots, rather than being separate; I have thick lower calves and the boot still fits me comfortably. The zip seems solid, moves a little stiffly at first but then that'll loosen up in time. (I might lay some candle wax on it just to ease it up a little more). All in all, so far I'd say this is money well spent. The comfort (so far) is nice, and there is some solid ankle support. Time will tell. I'll update this in a few months to evaluate the longevity of these boots.

New boots
I bought these simply to replace a different set of boots that I managed to lose. These are really good boots, well made, zips on the side are convinient, they are actually very comfortable. Having recently been to a music festival I never felt any feet rubbing against it, and when I got in from walking around all day, I wasnt desperate to take them off either. They seem pretty weather proof, the thinsulate lining helps to keep your feet warm when its cold, and they arent too bad when its warm either. Good grip on the bottom, all around a great buy.The one possible issue is the colour. I don't like black boots, so I went for the desert colour, the colours fine, its just easy to get dirty, so if you're thinking for going across english countryside, then good luck keeping them spotless.

started out good, but not built to last
From a brand like this I was expecting better. After a brief period of bedding in the were initially quite comfortable but after a few months the support in the insole started to disappear very noticeably and I had to put in some aftermarket insoles, then after a bit of bad weather (and I go outside very infrequently especially if it is wet ) the construction started to come apart and the sole come away. Will not be buying another pair to replace these.
