Lew's Mach II Speed Spin Spinning Reel

The reel was smooth and light. It had a great feel to it. The only problem I had was a piece of plastic broke inside the bail and the spring came off. Talked to the seller, Knot Just Flies, and they replaced it with a brand new reel. Knot Just Flies is a great place to buy from. Their customer service is top notch!!

I love how the reel looks, and it casts well. I really love the high speed retrieval that the gear ratio allows; makes it easy to cover a ton of water. However, it's a bit noisy. Its silent when empty, but after a few casts when the line gets wet, you can hear every single retrieval, which is sad, and annoying. I'm not sure what's causing it...maybe the line guide? The seller was kind enough to send me a replacement reel, but it makes the same noise. Very odd. I'm also a bit worried about the design of the reel that completely exposes the internals of the vertical pinion shaft, through the enormous slots cut in the spool. I feel like this makes the components more vulnerable.

This is one quality real with many top of the line features. It is silky smooth yet durable. I have nothing bad to say about this real.

It feels like a penn

Absolute tank of a reel. I got the 400 for my st. Croix pike rod and it’s a beast. Retrieve is smooth as butter. Have a couple lew’s reels now and they are all high quality without the massive price tag. Can’t go wrong with lew’s

Rod is a bit stiffer than I like, however it is a nice combo, I actually use it for walleye jigging 1 oz. jigs. Works perfect.

I purchased my first Lew's reel last year, and it changed the game for me as to what quality in a spinning reel could be. I've replaced all of my baitcasters with Lew's. This one was purchased as a gift, but if you're looking for a high-end durable reel under $100 this is the go-to. Easily on par with reels costing twice as much.
