The New Guy

Fantastic Story
First let me say I love all of Sarinaβs previous MM novels, so I know she always hits the mark in this genre. This was an enjoyable read. I thought the storyline was well thought out and it kept me engaged right to the last page. I preferred Gavin over Hudson. Gavin is such a sweetheart, and my heart broke for him after learning about his past. Hudson was a little frustrating to say the least! I wanted to scream at him at times, but he did make good in the end, so all is forgiven.I enjoyed the pacing of the book and as usual the writing was super, I could read Sarinaβs books all day and not be bored.Overall a fantastic read.

4.25β An enjoyable m/m hockey romance
Meet single dad Gavin, who's just moved to Brooklyn with his daughter Jordyn. After the death of his husband Eddie. Gavin is finally ready to start over again and give his daughter some security even if that means ditching what he knows and loves and going to work for the Brooklyn Bruisers.A hockey team, full of pampered players including new guy Hudson Newgate. Who never gets comfy with any team as he's traded so often hence he's nicknamed the 'new guy' by his teammates.Yet, he's hoping Brooklyn is his chance to create roots and prove his worth. What he's not expecting is the gorgeous guy he picked up and then dropped when he found out he was his neighbour, is the new Bruisers athletic trainer. And as the pair are forced to spend time together they soon find they have lots in common. But they have issues too including the fact Hudson is keeping his sexuality a secret. And with lots of emotion, real-life issues, heat and cuteness. This was a really enjoyable read, and I would happily recommend it to others.

Swoony and wonderful
Another awesome book to add to the list. Hudson & Gavin's tale just had everything I love in it - one guy who is all in despite his scars, the other petrified to put himself out there. But the pull between them was palpable, together it was just all so swoony and made me happy sigh. And I get to enjoy it all over again as I also bought the audio as it's an auto buy - favourite author, favourite narrator.

A good story, well told.
Although this is obviously a commercial MM romance, it has a freshness that sets it apart from many others. The portrayal of the many characters is both honest and strong.

Enjoyable read
The book follows the usual formula for a romance. But it was well written and narrated

New times
Sarina Bowen has definitely scored another hit with this book. Gavin and Hudson are perfect together even if they do get off to a rocky start. As new guys to the Brooklyn Bruisers life is different, Gavin is a health trainer and completely out about his sexuality whereas Hudson is a hockey player and terrified that anyone will discover that he's bisexual. These two are destined to be together and with a little help from Gavin's daughter Jordyn they get there. Life throws a spanner in the works though. As you can imagine these two not only butt heads but create sparks too. A wonderful, witty and fascinating story that I will definitely read a lot and recommend it to everyone.

Good
This was an entertaining read, as would be expected from a Sarina Bowen story, but it failed to offer anything to set it up as a 5 star read.
