Great Display and price using for my ham radio tuner
Hi I am using this Display for my Ham Radio Antenna tuner ATU 50 / 150And ATU-100This works very well and a great priceWhen I first switched the tuner on the display was just blue, no txt, so then I adjusted the contrast pot on the board and then I could see it all veryClear ,The original maker of the tuner firmware, has a few different displays in his firmware and all you have to do to use this one is change 2 hex addresses ,The price is very good for this display, and the seller sends the data sheets once you have ordered the display,Thanks Dave 2E0DMB

Lacks useful information in the description
From the Amazon description I was not able to discover which i2c interface was bundled with this product. I assume this is OK if you are going to use Arduino libraries, I wanted to write my own drivers for a Raspberry Pi. Previously I had purchased a 1602 bundled with MCP23017 i2c device. On arrival discovered this bundle shipped with PCF8574T device, which has very different characteristics from a MCP23017. Three days later and recourse to a logic analyser to investigate the i2c I achieved success. I suggest AZDelivery adds useful specifications to their description.

Really simple
This makes the communication with your Arduino much simpler by using just two data ports and with no additional resistors. A potentiometer to change the contrast is built in too. It requires a different library to use than the standard lcd, this is easy to download and install. You can also control if the lcd is on or off through the library. The lcd itself is bright and clear. The downside would be that the manual is only in German and not yet available in English. I could understand it well with some basic German and I imagine Google Translate would do a good enough job. Will definitely use in future projects and I honestly can't think why I would use a standard LCD without the converter (although I'm sure they may be a reason!). Definitely recommend.

Exactly what it says on the tin.
It's important to drive the A/K, VDD, VSS and VO pins at 5v. Logic on the 8 bins- this is because running at 3.3v it's not possible to pull down the VO pin far enough to display good contrast. The HD44780 has space for 2 capacitors and an IC to allow the LCD display to be run on 3.3v, but you're going to have to solder that upgrade yourself.Read/write, register select and enable pins can all be driven with 3.3v logic. Easy to use, with the I2C interface thrown in, this is a great product.

Product OK, service lousy
As pointed out by another review, the free e-book is just a con. You have to register on their web site, give them an email address so they can bombard you with emails and the link to download the e-book doesn't work.Fortunately the information is readily available. At first I thought it wasn't working, but had to turn the brightness up to 80%+ to get a display

Great value, don’t use the Adafruit LCD libraries
Brilliant value, 3 LCDs plus 3 I2C interfaces for little more money than one Adafruit I2C interface which is of lower quality. If you are using the Arduino the Adafruit LCD libraries don’t work with these as they are specific to the Adafruit I2C Interface . Use LiquidCrystal_I2C.h .

Excellent
Packaging very nice. Good customer service. Not tested all six modules yet but the two I have work great.
