Authentic F1rst Layer Upgraded Dual Gear All Metal Extruder for Ender 3 / Pro / 5 / Pro and All CR Series Printers with 1M Capricorn PTFE Tubing, Bed Springs and Premium PC4-M10 Fittings

I am working on a unboxing and installation video which I will upload as soon as the editing is done. This is the second product I have ordered from First Layer and the customer service, quick shipping and support after the sale are beyond fantastic. That being said onto the review....This is a must have product. My ender 3 came with the stock extruder and was primarily plastic, I was still getting amazing prints. I kept reading about upgrades and after the upgraded motherboard to the dealy silent one they sell here I grabbed one of these bad boys.I got it within 4 days using free shipping and it arrived with all the accessories listed 1M Capricorn PTFE Tubing, Premium Bed Springs and Fittings ( actually a extra fitting and clip was included in mine - I am not complaining I will take bonus stuff anytime)Unboxing and dumping it all out it looks intimidating at first as far as assembly and install so being a n00b I looked for the instructions, there were none and this is my only negative about the product and process, maybe a link to a video or some basic instructions for those less familiar or just starting out with the 3d printing experience.After getting some help from you tube and tearing my old one out to install the new one...It went quickly and seemlessly ( after I figured out how to make some modifications because I had my old one set up for direct feed so I had to do some design changes - if you are going stock this is a bolt on in place in 15 mins tops.I made the suggested step change they recommend on the website and began printing. I think because I have my system set up as direct feed is the reason I had to make a slight adjustment to the steps to 144.3 instead of 144.22 to get some pretty flawless prints ( at least the best prints I have made so far ) I will be posting a video and pictures in sort order.Overall - Great improvement for a small price. I say everyone should have one one you will not regret it.

First, let me say that F1rst Layer is Amazing! I’ve purchased several upgrades for my End 5 Pro, and while I didn’t have any questions with this one, I have to say their support & engagement is AMAZING when you need/if you every need it.

With that said, this was a straight forward and easy upgrade that I would recommend for everyone! This dual gear extruder is just amazing! Material feeds so smoothly and zero slipping, even on tricky material like wood filled filament and allows for increased print speeds. The installation was quick and easy with no problems at all. The extra bed springs were a great plus too. They are so much better then the stock springs on the Ender 5 Pro. It even comes with additional blue Capricorn PTFE!Again, this should be considered an early must upgrade for everyone’s printers; improved material handling, improved speed, and improved print quality!

Legit product. Capricorn good quality. Springs are sturdy. Extruder is well made metal. Gears are solid. The extra Bowden connectors are well made sturdy and look like they will last a long while (5 total). Don't expect any instructions lol but if you are upgrading these parts definitely not difficult (literally only one way to put together that works) overall pleased with my purchase. And the value of this pack is nice considering buying all these parts separate is a lot more expensive.

*Scroll to bottom for latest update/review*Biggest factor on purchasing this bundle was the "upgraded" extruder. This has caused nothing but problems for my Ender, and was even manufactured so poorly that the set screw ran into the extruders body causing failed prints and negligible motor wear. I modified it to work, but it's simply not worth it. Spend the money on a better, name brand extruder. Everything else in this bundle was satisfactory, but can be purchased sperate or in other kits for a better price.Purchased for Ender 3 V2EDIT: I was contacted directly by F1RST LAYER, and was informed they have identified the extruder issue and will send me a replacement at no cost. I am currently waiting for the replacement to arrive and will update this review when I have an opportunity to inspect and test the replacement.EDIT: Final Update - I received my replacement part in a timely manner after great customer service. In the attached photos you can see my damaged parts, as well as the replacements. The issue has been addressed and the design physically changed. I can now say this bundle is definitely a great bang for your buck - however, please ensure the motor set screw is not too long and check for any burrs prior to installation and first use.

Sadly they have cheaped out on the hardware in this version of the kit, the bolt that holds the bearings and the secondary gear drive is not a hardened shoulder bolt as it should be and instead, a soft both that is threaded its whole length. This causes the needle bearings to very quickly flatten the threads on one side of the bolt and the gear tilts to one side, which then causes the teeth to chew through the aluminum arm.Mine lasted about 30 hours of printing before it was inoperable and I needed to find and machine a hardened dowl pin into the arm to salvage what was left of this product.
