fits perfectly, why pay more???

Fits on my new 70-300mm AF-P just fine, quality looks just the same as my Nikon hoods and it's cheaper so I am very happy with it. Nothing more to say.

As previous reviewers have said the fit is quite loose and as it is does not lock into place. I found that the reason for this is that the hood does not rotate its full extent to allow it to click into place on the lens. This is due to the small rectangular stop at the end of the engagement "tongue" being slightly too long. By trimming off about a millimetre, with a craft knife, the hood is able to rotate slightly further and the clip, which a small triangular piece at the front of the "tongue", to slip over the end of the slot in the lens hood mount and lock into place. This has also to be done to the two tongues that engage when the hood is reversed for stowage. It now works perfectly.

Does the job perfectly at the fraction of the Nikon equivalent

I am very satisfied with this product, it replaces perfectly the original Nikon

Every thing great

Good fit, no problems attaching or detaching. Not the strongest build, can see it breaking more easily than Nikons own. It's also not 100% light tight where it connects to the lens, with air/light gaps as part of the clip mechanism. I haven't noticed this being a problem but if you had a very bright light behind you, small chance you might get some reflected light spill inside the hood

I recently purchased a 70-300 mm telephoto lens and required a lens hood. After researching the available lens hoods on Amazon, I selected this one.Upon receipt, it attached easily, fit snugly and was sturdy. The only issue I had was that I like using a circular polarizing filter. When the lens hood is mounted, it is difficult rotating the filter. This is the only downside that I observed. Since the design of the mount is responsible, I did not count this against the design of this lens hood.Overall, I am quite pleased with the lens hood and rate it with five stars.

Buen producto

I was hesitant to get a third party hood, but the Nikon version was sold out at the time. It fits my AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR perfectly and easily clicks into place like my other Nikon hoods. I've now been using this regularly for over a month and it's usually on my lens while hiking with my camera strapped by my side or back. This is much higher quality than I expected for the price. I highly recommend going this route if you want to save some money or can't find the Nikon brand hood.
