Literally behind the glove box!
Certainly cheaper filter than both Napa and Autozone. Arrived very quickly, of course. The installation that pertains to 04 Subaru Forester XT Turbo, only tool you will be is a phillips #2 screwdriver and maybe a second pair of hands. You will have to open the glove box, best to take out everything, then unscrew all 5 screws from around the top and sides, then there are 2 screws inside the glove box on both sides. Then close the glove box and there are 4 screws that are along the bottom edge of the glove box, practically laying on the carpeting. Then you will be able to pull the entire glove box forward and move it out of the way. Then you will see a door held in by 2 plastic retaining clips. That plastic cover will need to be lifted on the left side and it will slid right out. Then insert the filter, think side towards inside the car. I think there is only one way to install it. There was not a filter in my car, and i just bought it last year. You might need another person to hold the glove box in place until you have fastened a few screws in place. Then sort though all of your expired registration papers and proof of insurance than you can organize your glove box......or just throw everything back into the box and call it a day. Great airflow through filter on 2003 Subaru Forester
The airflow through this filter in my 2003 Subaru Forester is great. There's a slight, barely noticeable reduction in the airflow through the vehicle's HVAC system after I installed this filter.I am pleased with its performance.

Perfect fit, perfect value
Replacing the cabin air filter in our Subaru Forester was like installing a new air conditioning system. The ease of installation of this unit was great and it is a great value. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

Not a bad deal
Didn't fit my Forester as well as I think it should have but it did fit. It looked identical to the one I removed though. I'll buy it again so...
